  2. For sale: Five Du-Tones- Shake a tail feather - German President (with Picture Sleeve!) £20.00 Very hard to find german President issue (1968/69?) complete with ultra rare picture sleeve. Only the 3rd copy I ever saw. Highly collectable for anyone into unusual releases from around the world. Record EX, sleeve VG+ Postage £3.00 worldwide, less within Germany. Paypal only. 3. Been discussed before, 90 copies pressed. On a side note: 2 of them made it to Munich and ended up with me. I won a copy in the Shades of Soul competition, 2nd copy came a few weeks later from a local funk collector who got it from the Ace/Kent PR department and didn't like the tracks ("not funky enough"). Shrewd business man I am I immediately traded one copy for 50 quid worth of records.
  4. what you mean "this time"? I'm always spot on, it's just you guys don't realize that
  5. minor typo. wasn't sure if exactly 90 copies were pressed so meant to say less than 100. just found out it was exactly 90.
  6. Value was discussed here on Soul Source earlier this year. In the past it sold for up to 300 quid when it was really in demand. Karl Marthon had one for sale a few months ago, offers starting at 100 I think. Don't know for how much it eventually sold. If I'd sell my copy I sure would want at least 150 for it. Less than 90 copies pressed!
  7. Price now reduced to postage free worldwide. Someone's ought to buy it, I need food for the kids
  8. For sale: Paul Kelly - Sweet sweet lovin / Cryin for my baby - Philips 1591 £15.00 Nice strong EX condition. Good midtempo dancer with killer deep soul on flip. Soundclip available on request Postage £3.00 included worldwide. Paypal only. Payment as gift preferred but not required.
  9. Just money sure won't make you a top DJ but it sure would bring you near the top.
  10. I reckon both records to be worth around 25 quid each realistically. But seen both going for much less on Ebay in recent times.
  11. Here are a few euro picture covers. It came out twice in Germany but don't have pictures of either release at hand.

In the end it's just a very very rare label variation of a (IMO) mediocre Northern classic. I doubt that more than a handful of hard core collectors are bidding on it. Something like for instance a proper release copy of Butch's Diane Lewis cover up, now that would be interesting to say the least.
  14. I'm 100% sure my copy came from you. Would make sense that you sold one and kept one, especially as the one I bought is rather VG+ than EX so you obviously kept the better one. Must have been around 1999 or 2000, I remember clearing the dancefloor completely when I played it for the first time.
  15. Malc, this are the modern times. Copy & paste a 1,000 times is ok with us ...

The vast majority of 'big spenders' reside in the UK. Most of the top dollar records are oldies sought after in the UK and therefore bought by UK collectors. You're right there are obviously quite a few younger european collectors/dj's with lots of money to spend on records. But their influence on the price development of Northern 45s is rather marginal IMO.

    Yep, The Embers
  18. That's a reissue (or boot?) from a few years back.
  19. Yes, white label press does exist, I have one. Actually I think it's more common than the blue (?) issue press. Is the white label one a demo? I think so but there's nothing on either side that might denote that. Just looked up the one that finished on Ebay the other day, it's a proper white demo. My copy probably looks the same, haven't played it for quite some time...
  20. derek you sold a copy 10 years ago! to me!
  21. Sure. Nothing wrong with that. Many Ebay sellers do not refund return postage. Joerg is a close friend of mine so I try not to get involved in any discussion about grading or postage costs. But saying "no return policy" is simply incorrect.
  22. hm,his return policy is that you can return any record you're unhappy for refund of winning bid.

Chalky, I stated a fact not an argument. And argument for what? There wasn't anything to argue about? I just think that having a closer look at Bill Dennis bidding history is interesting. Only two bidders think it's worth more than 3.6K. Seems like both were very desperate to get the record, one a tad more than the other. That's all. Your buyer A/B analogy doesn't fit in what I said.
  24. How about Satin - Your love's got me?
  25. Funny Chuck Cockerham gets mentioned a few times. I think it's a crap tune but different strokes for different folkes as they say
