Most Bizarrely Pressed Record I've Ever Seen
Instrumental instead of vocal version. Labels wrong way around. What next? Seems like somebody at a canadian pressing plant screwed it up big style. 😂

Pages Heartaches & ZZ & Co Getdown.
ZZ is ~125 more likely. Check Discogs. Pages was in huge demand couple of years ago and people paid ridiculous amounts for originals and pressings. So don't be surprised if you don't get as much for the pressing as they were getting back then. Problem with the pressing is (IMO) its worse appearance and sound quality. It just looks, feels and sounds cheap.

Label background overprinted and used by multiple labels
Back then many pressing plants offered generic label designs to their customers. The customers had to supply only the respective details and choose a font. So I'd say that quite good looking background was chosen by a few different customers of the very same pressing plant.

Eddie Spencer / Precisions- If This Is Love- difference?
to be honest, I don't believe the story that the backing is a re-recording. Let's look at it from a economic point of view. What's cheaper? To license the backing track and record new vocals over it or to have Mike Terry flying/driving all the way to Toronto, working hours and hours in the studio, arranging the backing band, hiring all the musicians, etc.? I never noticed that the backing tracks of Precisions and EP are different. But I'm not saying they are not different. So, accepting you guys saying there are subtle differences, how about this theory: Someone in Toronto heard the Precisions record, licensed a backing track from Drew to record new vocals over it, the guys at Drew sent over a tape but sent an alternative take by mistake. What you think?

Wow, I didnt know that this one had been done.. it booted
Sure. But that was pre-Manship guide and I didn't know about that back then.

Poly record sleeves safe
Nothing wrong with using plastic outer sleeves for 45s. As long as you user a paper inner sleeve as well and don't use the poly-lined inner sleeves! Even when stored in a rather damp environment I never had problems with the plastic sleeves for 45s. Unlike LPs. Some tend to get tiny mold spots on the cover when stored in a damp environment. I guess that depends on the colour the used for printing the covers. However you can simply wipe off these spots. No serious harm done.

S.W.O.N.S
You lot sound quite hypocritical to me. These are bootlegs, no matter when they were pressed. This site does not condone selling pressings. Yet, when they appear on Manship's site, suddenly all good? Is auctioning the first 30 Soussan Soul Galore pressings just as good?

I once bought the dark blue press thinking I got an original pretty cheap. Must say, it did look very convincing. At that time I didn't know about the sound dip. It was only when I had my copy and a def original side by side I saw the difference. Original is a tight lighter than the dark blue press.

What interesting vinyl do you have ?
Never heard of that Pizza Box release before. Looks great! Jack White's Third Man Records are experimenting with all sorts of vinyl gimmicks. Like, LP in clear vinyl with liquid inside.

Charles Johnson never had a love
How I wish there was an original 12" of it. Not the usual disco mix, but simply a complete recording including what happened after the ad-lib part of the 7" mix. As good as the song is, the last 30 odd seconds take it to a higher level. In my opinion. Anyone access to the Alston/T.K. archive?

Bobby Smith
Yes, I have an addition. Whoever edited the title of this topic: It's Bobbie Smith and not Bobby Smith.

Unbelievable
Are Do you lot ever get tired of the old original vs boot dj'ing discussion? I wish there was a huge *yawn* emoticon available.

Robert Thomas On Venture
Well, if you had done a bit of research yourself you would have come up with the following: Discogs says: MatrixDetails VINYL: V-004109-A released 1968 Monarch Release Date table says: ∆ 71362 = May 1968 What you have is an east coast and a west coast press. Both legit. Case closed 👍

What, you’ve never heard this?!!!
Know where you're coming from. Like a rich red wine it's good to put it aside for a few years. Then dig it and it blows you away. And in case you own a copy and think of selling it, don't. Flip it over for a tremendous beat ballad:
