Lot of 10 Motown 45's, £15 incl p&p worldwide
Lot of 10 Motown 45's, £15 incl p&p worldwide As you can see in the scans, these records had a really hard past. However, due to the heavy duty vinyl quality of Motown records, they all have plenty of life left in them. Even though many grade as G+ visually, all play through w/out any skips or major noise, I'd say average play grading VG/VG+ Therefore I decided to offer them here on Soul Source for just £15 incl P&P world instead throwing them away. 7x Gordy / 1x Tamla / 2x Tamla-Motown Germany: Temptations - I've been good to you/You're my everything Martha & Vandellas - Live wire/Old Love Martha Reeves & Vandellas - Show me the way/Honey chile Marthy & Vandellas - Jimmy Mack/3rd finger left hand Temptations - Ball of confusion/It's summer Temptations - Truly truly believe/I wish it would rain Gladys Knight & Pips - Everybody needs love/stepping closer to your heart Marvelettes - Hunter gets captured/I think I can change you Eddie Kendricks - Boogie down/Can't help what I am Smokey Robinson & Miracles - Tears of a clown/I'll take you any way ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal Family & Friends only. Willie Tee - One More Chance'
If the Willie Tee track is a tailor-made it's probably IL's best attempt so far. Rather low-fi sound, weak mix, sounds like it could be a genuine demo. Even if a full orchestra is a bit odd for a demo. And apart from the facts that a) it doesn't sound like Willie Tee at all and b) the backing vocals are 100% Ian Levine style. That cheap echo effect is almost like his trademark.

Willie Tee - One More Chance'
I like IL's comment in this Youtube vid post. Claims his previous videos have had well over 17 Mio views. Well, this one has only 2.700 in the last 3 years. And it's blocked in Germany as well.

Agree with Dave, 150/175 for an orange first press. Demand peaked a few years ago. Still a great record....

Rarities on ebay that keep disappearing
I know Ebay doesn't encourage early auctions ends. But is actually against their rules? Here in Germany law overrules Ebay. Meaning the moment you end an auction early the highest bidder becomes the winner. If seller refuses to sell you the item at your bid you can sue them for loss of profit. There are some nasty court decisions against german Ebay sellers.....

Fluffy Falana - My Little Cottage (Alpha)
Correct from what I recall. However I don't recall his real name. I really like My Little Cottage. Lyrics a bit odd. But a strong Allnighter tune nevertheless.

News: Tyrone Edwards aka Tony & Tyrone - The Story
Very interesting read, thanks! 'Whip your loving on me' came out on german Vogue as well. I once had a date stamped demo Nov 21, 1970. Don't know how accurate that is. Nice pic sleeve. I attach a scan I nicked off Discogs. Can supply better quality scan from my collection if you want? I think 'Please operator' also came out in Germany but am not sure.

Motown Soundalikes
How about Chairmen of the Board - Give me just a little more time. To me sounds like a pure 60s winning formula Motown tune with a slight early 70s touch (no surprise as it's a HDH tune)

the steve karmen big band
Just a bit of trivia: Jimmy Radcliffe's vocals/lyrics were ad-lib.

"Red" Verve (D.J.) copy
Wasn't it something like different label colours for different music styles on Verve? Like black Verve for Jazz, dark blue issues for Soul/R&B. Demo-wise I recall yellow and light blue. Are the red/orange ones maybe some foreign press, e.g. Canada?

Lorraine Silver Demo on Ebay - how much????
I like this a lot. And also "the other one" by her, Happy Faces. The latter one I once described in my fanzine as "turbo-powered pop". Lorraine's still active by the way: https://www.lorrainesilver.com/index.html

Irma And The Fascinations
Ian, my understanding is that Virtue was predominantly a recording studio used by a huge number of Philly artists/producers. Therefore the number of Virtue acetates in circulation doesn't really surprise me.

EARL WHITE JR ON EBAY
Well, I asked him for run-out details of Earl White Jnr and he never replied. Maybe because he knew it wasn't an original.

Bargin for somebody
Check Popsike. Recent copies of Arthur Alex went for less than $100. So not really a huge bargain. On the other hand, Youngblood Smith is a bloody bargain....
