Agree with Dave, 150/175 for an orange first press. Demand peaked a few years ago. Still a great record....

Rarities on ebay that keep disappearing
I know Ebay doesn't encourage early auctions ends. But is actually against their rules? Here in Germany law overrules Ebay. Meaning the moment you end an auction early the highest bidder becomes the winner. If seller refuses to sell you the item at your bid you can sue them for loss of profit. There are some nasty court decisions against german Ebay sellers.....

UK/EURO/US Mixed Bag - updated
PETE LANCASTER – MELLOW HUSTLE – RST AUSTRIA (M-) £15 Top semi-known Boogie Modern Soul! Austria only release. Unplayed stock copy. However label of flip on both sides. US RELEASES 60s/Northern/R&B: THE KINGPINS - LUCKY GUY - VEE JAY (EX) £40 Lovely early 60's soul. Rarer issue. Same backing as Johnny Apalachian - Up in smoke SANDRA KING - LEAVE IT UP TO THE BOYS - BELL D/J (VG+) £50 Storming big production Northern. Label bit worn, nothing serious. Plays really nice CLARENCE HENRY - LITTLE SUZY - ARGO W/D (VG+) £5 R&B rocker, nice white demo THE VOWS - THE THINGS YOU DO TO ME - TAMARA (EX) £10 very obscure uptempo doo wop-ish dancer from 1963. Same group as on V.I.P. MIGHTY JOE YOUNG - VOO DOO DUST - WEBCOR WD (EX) 10 Rockin' R&B Instro 70s/Crossover/Modern: NEW EARLINE OWENS – GO ON WITHOUT YOU/STONE TO THE BONE – AR'NETT (VG++) £10 Very obscure bluesy 80s dancer. Flip is a great piece of 70s crossover but suffers badly from very low-fi pressing quality. Obviously dubbed from another disc. SUN - JUST A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME - CAPITOL (EX+) £50 Catchy dancer from 1977. Always drags them on the floor. MARVA HICKS - LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER - INFINITY W/D (VG+) £10 Classic on a nice demo. Plays fine GERMAN RELEASES (all with P/S unless stated) THE MAJORS - IT ONLY HAPPENS (WHEN I LOOK AT YOU) - MAGNET (VG+/VG+) £10 Great Euro only version of Jackie Wilson. Nice picture sleeve for this hard to find german issue. Record plays EX but has some hardly visible spots from being stored in a damp environment for some time hence grading. Does not affect play at all. CHUBBY CHECKER - MY LITTLE GIRL - CAMEO PARKWAY GERMANY £15 German only Mod-Beat-Garage-ish dancer. FOLLOWING ALL £5 EACH (w/ PS unless stated, VG+ or better). NEW EDDIE HOLMAN – SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU/DON'T STOP NOW - STATESIDE Classic ballad doublesider. Doesn't turn up that often. Sleeve VG NEW THE INTRUDERS – (WIN, PLACE OR SHOW) SHE'S A WINNER – P.I.R. Another Philly classic. Even more strings than “Nice girl”. Neat picture sleeve. DAVID RUFFIN – EVERYTHING'S COMING UP LOVE – TAMLA MOTOWN B.T. Fluffy Falana - My Little Cottage (Alpha)
PS there's an old SS thread about Fluffy which includes a very revealing picture of Lola. Stunning lady... /forums/topic/61513-fluffy-falana/

Fluffy Falana - My Little Cottage (Alpha)
Correct from what I recall. However I don't recall his real name. I really like My Little Cottage. Lyrics a bit odd. But a strong Allnighter tune nevertheless.

News: Tyrone Edwards aka Tony & Tyrone - The Story
Very interesting read, thanks! 'Whip your loving on me' came out on german Vogue as well. I once had a date stamped demo Nov 21, 1970. Don't know how accurate that is. Nice pic sleeve. I attach a scan I nicked off Discogs. Can supply better quality scan from my collection if you want? I think 'Please operator' also came out in Germany but am not sure.

Motown Soundalikes
How about Chairmen of the Board - Give me just a little more time. To me sounds like a pure 60s winning formula Motown tune with a slight early 70s touch (no surprise as it's a HDH tune)

the steve karmen big band
Just a bit of trivia: Jimmy Radcliffe's vocals/lyrics were ad-lib.

"Red" Verve (D.J.) copy
Wasn't it something like different label colours for different music styles on Verve? Like black Verve for Jazz, dark blue issues for Soul/R&B. Demo-wise I recall yellow and light blue. Are the red/orange ones maybe some foreign press, e.g. Canada?

Lorraine Silver Demo on Ebay - how much????
I like this a lot. And also "the other one" by her, Happy Faces. The latter one I once described in my fanzine as "turbo-powered pop". Lorraine's still active by the way: https://www.lorrainesilver.com/index.html

Irma And The Fascinations
Ian, my understanding is that Virtue was predominantly a recording studio used by a huge number of Philly artists/producers. Therefore the number of Virtue acetates in circulation doesn't really surprise me.

EARL WHITE JR ON EBAY
Well, I asked him for run-out details of Earl White Jnr and he never replied. Maybe because he knew it wasn't an original.

Cleethorpes 2016 - Maxine Brown Announced For The 2016 Weekender
and she still looks as stunning as she did during the Wand years.

Bargin for somebody
Check Popsike. Recent copies of Arthur Alex went for less than $100. So not really a huge bargain. On the other hand, Youngblood Smith is a bloody bargain....

3 45s in a box
None of them my cup of tea, sorry. They're just not good. Hope you don't consider to play them out at a party?

Picture Covers Valuation
It's from 1975. Probably released on the back of the Route release success. Wouldn't be the first continental release released the same time as a british reissue. E.g. Chubby Checker YJDK on spanish London.
-
Picture Covers Valuation
Don Thomas around 25 quid on Discogs. Don't know how much Harold Melvin is. It looks lovely though.
-
Don Gardner - My Baby Likes to Boogaloo (Tru-Glo-Town)
So do I. Played at literally every Mod dance I attended mid/late 90s.

Deep Soul - Label Resurrected with Two New 45s
No too keen on Jaibi. Never really understood what's so special about that track. But 2nd release is a blast. Best tracks of both Kent Ballad CDs on one 45. Wow! Order on its way. @Ady: Do you have the rights of Arthur Freeman - I want to come home?
