If the Willie Tee track is a tailor-made it's probably IL's best attempt so far. Rather low-fi sound, weak mix, sounds like it could be a genuine demo. Even if a full orchestra is a bit odd for a demo. And apart from the facts that a) it doesn't sound like Willie Tee at all and b) the backing vocals are 100% Ian Levine style. That cheap echo effect is almost like his trademark.

I like IL's comment in this Youtube vid post. Claims his previous videos have had well over 17 Mio views. Well, this one has only 2.700 in the last 3 years. And it's blocked in Germany as well.

I know Ebay doesn't encourage early auctions ends. But is actually against their rules? Here in Germany law overrules Ebay. Meaning the moment you end an auction early the highest bidder becomes the winner. If seller refuses to sell you the item at your bid you can sue them for loss of profit. There are some nasty court decisions against german Ebay sellers.....

How about Chairmen of the Board - Give me just a little more time. To me sounds like a pure 60s winning formula Motown tune with a slight early 70s touch (no surprise as it's a HDH tune)

Wasn't it something like different label colours for different music styles on Verve? Like black Verve for Jazz, dark blue issues for Soul/R&B. Demo-wise I recall yellow and light blue. Are the red/orange ones maybe some foreign press, e.g. Canada?

Ian, my understanding is that Virtue was predominantly a recording studio used by a huge number of Philly artists/producers. Therefore the number of Virtue acetates in circulation doesn't really surprise me.

Check Popsike. Recent copies of Arthur Alex went for less than $100. So not really a huge bargain. On the other hand, Youngblood Smith is a bloody bargain....
