  2. And it sure didn't sell for that much on the strength of the alt take of "in the name". Awful version.

  4. sure but looks lovely too. I'd rather have a Drew record in such a made up sleeve than a boring brown paper one.
  5. Two examples from me 1) 'Moses Smith' bootleg of Epitome of Sound was pressed pichted up 2) Towana "Wear your natural baby" was record slower than it was pressed.
  6. never noticed that. Is there anything on the label referring to a Laurie distribution apart from the matrix #?
  7. I bought two records Brad flattened for a customer. According to the seller both were warped and unplayable. Now they're flat and play absolutely fine. One no warp at all. The other one hardly noticeable. So whatever magical machine Brad uses, it does the trick.
  8. Dave, do you know which device Brad Hales is using? That's a very effective one.
  9. Once had the Sam Dees LP on Atlantic given to me as a present from someone I wouldn't expect to give me any presents. Record turned out to be badly warped
  10. Haven't heard the anniv 45 yet but if it's the same track as on the Dave Hamilton CD it's a) brilliant and b) by the Brute group.
  11. In the handful of books I got about WC or that mention WC none says it was packed from the beginning. They all say it took a few niters to get the ball rolling.
  12. The video of Keb Darge playing Northern in Kobe is impressive. Crowd doesn't look that small to me.
  13. This one's even better: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rita-Tiaras-Gone-Wind-My-Love-Northern-Soul-/360741722629?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item53fde1da05
  14. Over here in Germany there's a threshold value for any import taxes or VAT. 24 Euros I think. Problem is valuation includes shipping.
  15. PS: Ducky & Glowliters used to be played pitched down to -8. Even that slow it's still pretty fast.
  16. Records have been played pitched ever since the invention of adjustable turntables. And some records were pressed faster or slower than they were recorded. So even the producers thought they'd know better than the artists.
  17. they pitch up or down to match the BPM rate the belgian popcorn dancers want.

  20. ending this coming sunday.
  21. @Al: Thanks for confirming that. Wasn't sure if I rememberd correctly because no one mentioned it before. IMO the best track they did was Just A Boys dream with What good am I coming in a close 2nd. Pretty girl nice too but by far not as good as #1 and #2. Didn't they also recorded a pretty weird track called "ghosts" or so?
  22. West coast for sure. Isn't it Willie Hutch on vocals?
