  2. No Kev,Mr Powney from the north east had one and the London Taxi man would of had one,proberly loads more say soul bowl etc,proberly along side Guy the first to use it out

James Lately (no longer with us) released one record with Dave Hamilton on Temple records as mentioned.Ive only ever seen his name on one other record details elude me but the disc belongs to Andy Dyson so he might be able to help.When i was over at D Hamiltons house James sisters came by on roller skates ( straight opposite Mr Franklins Church ) Arethas father Managed to get 3 copies of the disc and Dave told me that James was a real tough guy(bit like Larry Clinton was ) he went to the same school as Berry Gordy Jnr and one day gave Berry a slap dont forget that Berry was a succesful boxer around that time more so later,so as i said James was no pushover.Alas he was killed in the early 70ts dont remember the exact year i think it was knife wounds.The song (both sides ) is a fitting tribute to Glens memory.
  6. Thanks to Georgeblackwell and Gareth for putting those two clips up,super.I used to have both LPs on them(one of them being very hard to get) it goes to show you dont have to be black to sing(but it does help) for me one of the best all white groups not forgetting The Embers.Brill.....

  9. I would say that he like JJ would of visited our shores countlees time and who knows with the right song could of made lower chart entry,also he may of ended up taking residence here just as Edwin and G Washington did who knows,he could sing pretty good too.

  14. The Golden World Engineer and also James Stanford (Cassablanca) he was Ed Wingates chaufer and ended up with the remaining stock of 45s after Motown bought Mr Wingate out both told me many moons ago that as said before RT113 and RT126 never came out due to superstition reasons

Hows this for a stroke of luck,me and Kev Orton from Burton started to hitch to Wigan,as we reached the outskirts of our town a Triumph Herald pulled up asking of our intended destination,its a town in Lancashire called Wigan,oh well thats ok then i live there,.He had been visiting his girlfriend from Burton. Result

  21. I also think Chris didnt break any sounds him self,as nice as he was he lacked the confidence to push a record.I remember at Wigan he told me he had bought A Williams and L Tipton at £40 each,i thought he was nuts (how wrong i was about that one)
