  1. I looked in to this when i first noticed it years ago. Probably just a Discogs entry mistake when trying to put the David Lasley issue on there. I don't think the issue copy with two sides was released and it was put on there trying to find one. When adding a new listing on there you can "Copy To Draft" from another record which takes all the details from that release and then you can add or remove details for your new release. The link you put above was from a "Copy To Draft" of Johnny Adams - One Fine Day on Ariola Records and the contributor forgot to change the artist to David Lasley. So i think Philly Groove 178 was never officially released and you can only get it as a demo with "One Fine Day" on both sides Mono / Stereo.

I've had a red Linda Lloyd. The ones I listed are a lot harder to find as issues, I'd add Eric Lomax to that list too.

Jimmy Fraser - Tombstones Susan Rewis - They Say Linda Lloyd - Breakaway
  4. The Lovelites supposedly unissued "I'm Not Like The Others" is actually a very rare release by June Lee (AKA Deniece Chandler, Deniece Williams)
  5. Larry Wu - Let Me Show You - Atlantic Promo NM £100 This is an original "SP" Speciality vinyl press.
  6. Reissue white demo from around 1977 is Ritchie
  7. GRT took over Chess in 1971 and they could be generic white sleeves from then ? This is from 45-sleeves
  8. I don't know which came first. It was copyrighted as "Heartache", maybe "Heartbreak" was a typo and they got it repressed.
  9. Great to finally put a face to one of my favourite oldies, thanks for the pics. There are issues and demos with the title "Heartbreak" which is the actual word Richie sings in the song rather than the more common and mostly used "Heartache"
  10. I've searched but never seen a picture. Apparently he is white, his surname is Jarvis. Little Richie Jarvis was on "The Porter Wagoner Show" season 07 Episode 18 singing two songs, "Banks Of The Ohio" and "Bottle Of Wine" around 1967/68 . This was a big show in America that ran for many years, there's got to be some footage somewhere.
  11. Hello Mal, this but slowed down.
  12. F.A.O T.M could be Tommy Mottola (recorded as T.D Valentine on Epic and ex husband of Mariah Carey and Sony Records boss) Ujima's next record was Hall & Oates "She's Gone" Tommy was heavily involved with them and went on to be their manager.

  17. Hello Mick, Your quote above made me think of this clip on Youtube. The English guy talking on here is Dr Oliver Sacks, a Neuroligist and Author, I've read his book Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain. Watch the wonder of Henry coming alive when listening to his favourite music. When the headphones are taken off Henry talks passionately about Cab Calloway and starts singing. His whole mood transformed from nearly mute to expressing what it means to him "It Gives Me The Feeling Of Love", he can't stop talking. All this just through a few songs, it's incredible what music can do for you. Mick, I wish you all the best with your health my friend. Music is medicine, to be taken everyday.

  21. The Violinaires - Trying To Get Ready - Checker 1966
  22. First Class - Tell Me What You Want - Park-Way NM £200 This is the much rarer issue with the better B-side, great dancer.
  23. The Showmen - Our Love Will Grow
  24. These were copyrighted like this, three months apart. Empty Balcony / Where Did You Go Last Night (Barrett Strong, Wade Flemons) (Both Copyrighted 12 Nov 1964) What's A Guy Supposed To Do / I Can't Get Away From Your Love (Barrett Strong, Wade Flemons, Chuck Barksdale) (Both Copyrighted 11 Feb 1965) That's how they probably should of came out but the demo mispress of Empty Balcony / Where Did You Go Last Night actually play Where Did You Go Last Night / I Can't Get Away From Your Love. As i've mentioned on here before i don't think the issue that is on 45cat actually exists. It looks like a low res photoshop job with cut lines. I've chased this record for over 20 years and have never seen anything other than a hand full of demos. It was first known and played on the scene when it came out on "A Taste Of Soul Volume One" CD in 1993 which states it was unissued.
