  2. There's a strange documentary on Youtube about the song-poem industry that tells you about Rodd Keith. They talk to his son and there's some pictures of him. Real name is Rodney Keith Eskelin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOqn-I5u1MY&feature=watch-now-button&wide=1 forward it to 31.38 minutes in. "Like the lord said" is one of the worst tracks i've ever heard played on the scene.
  3. You're right it was from a Cleveland Browns record. It's called "Dance Big C" by the Ray Jay Band. Not heard it since those days it was played. What i remember it was an instrumental with football commentary and whistles on it .
  4. Intruders - Love is like a baseball game ???
  5. The original album with "Do this world a favour" is on a late 70's Jamaican album. The one you mention is from the mid 90's. I don't know the current price but £150 sounds expensive, the highest i've seen it listed was around the £40 mark.

Chess Golden Decade 8 is the one with the unissued Bobby Womack tracks. "See Me Through" is great, maybe they are from when he was one of The Valentinos.

  12. Hello Blake, this is by Cathy Davis. Always thought it has a Patti Hamilton feel to it. My mate Mike Charlton has it and played it in the deep room at Yarmouth. From memory it's a Florida release that has a link to Duvern on the label. Nice track and not easy to find.
  13. I've sold two McArthur issues recently. I was interested to find out who he was. I wondered if it was McArthur Munford of the Spellbinders but after asking someone on here who had contacts from the group they said it definately wasn't him. Beautiful record that i wish i could of kept.
  14. Paul and Mike, the official video for RSD is from the only record shop left on Teesside. I call in sometimes but it's a pretty soul-less place.
  15. Thanks for that Chalky, what a great selection. Somehow missed it when you first posted it. Will write it to disc for the journey to Yarmouth next week.
  16. The quote above by Bob is from the " Too careless with my love" youtube clip that the same person uploaded, which was a Dee Edwards record not the "I wont hurt you anymore". I think Bob was just answering Adys question to who the line up was.
  17. Henry Brooks - Greatest debt to my mother

Track 4 reminds me of stuff done by Dirty Dozen Brass Band but a lot of their songs sounds the same, check a few out on Youtube.
  19. 8.https://www.zshare.net/audio/87581105224b2022/ - Barbara Acklins "Is it me" on Brunswick records from around 1969/70.
  20. The Jerry Plunk track came out on a Solid Hitbound CD maybe ten years ago as Eddie Anderson. I also have an mp3 of it credited to Joey Kingfish. Just downloaded the mp3 on here and don't see any difference in the 3 of them. Was it once an un-credited acetate that they now know who it actually is ?.
  21. The second one is Marvins version as it opens with the lyrics you mention. G.C Camerons uses different opening lyrics even though they are the same song.

You can get this on the "Get up and get down" UK Philips album. Includes Aaron Neville, Brothers Guiding Light, Annette Snell, Dramatics and more. It'd be hard to find an original 70's compilation better than this. Shouldn't cost much either. https://snapcrackleandpops.blogspot.com/2009/11/get-up-and-get-down-various-artists.html
  23. This came out 3 or 4 times on Lamp, different colour labels and distributers. Lamp 86 with this on is their rarest record, in my opinion much rarer than "Good times bad times".
