  1. One of THEE must have LPs. IMO.
  2. Pete bet you nearly choked having to list that lot. Knowing how much you love more modern and crossover stuff. Ha ha!
  3. Joey speak to Pete Smith he is very fair with prices and knows his stuff. Same applies to John Manship when it comes to knowledge and honesty.
  4. Revisit the story when Richard played it at Wigan, John Poole ( I think) went up and said something about being another Palmer discovery, Richard would not have it as his was Labeat. Amazing it made it on two great labels!! Imagine!!
  5. That sounds very similar to how John told me Thank You.
  6. The original LP did it have the sticker on the front cover saying "Includes the hit/track Im your pimp"? I always thought this issue was AFTER it became played? I know it has been the subject of many topics AND I feel it is a very difficult one to tell the first issue from re-issues? JM told me a few years back that it was the number of turns in the run out groove? Say 3 for first issue and 4 for the others? I think the stamp/matrix is positioned in the first run out groove but on the re-issues it is further in? If anyone can say I would be a happy bunny.

Lester Wardle had one about 17 years back. He said Shifty was also playing it??
  8. Sorry it has gone just had a look.
  9. Archie Bell Here I go again around 72. Loved it and still do, just bought a 1969 WDJ copy.
  10. Wish Tim Brown was as open as John. Get really peed off that his go quicker than Usain Bolt with a dose of the trots. Good service Joe.
  11. Would love a Greek Top Tunes copy.
  12. Does it not have a Frankford / Wayne stamp on both Sassy and Gamble?
  13. Saw Cissy Stone at The Bungalow (Stockport County FC ) in 1979. Bit of a white Tina Turner, stomping around the stage singing her head off in a tiny outfit which left nothing to the imagination. Whoo!
  14. Steve stop being cynical. Happy Christmas mate.
  15. It definitely was played at Wigan. I first heard it on a Rob Marriott tape around 80/81. We used to go to WC together. I think Richard played it at WC very late days maybe 81. In fact I think he played it on Hallam Radio cos we used to tape it. Anyhow that's my recall. I stopped at the end of WC for at least 5/6 years due to work. Hope you find it Pete S.
  16. Real good sets. Same as me with Rhonda Davis and Celest Hardie together.
  17. Now 5 years. Take care bud!
  18. And another year goes by mate. Hard to believe it is 5 years since Alan departed. Miss you mate.
  19. Thanks Ian that's a real shame I am in Stockport. Sorry should have PM you. Thanks all the same. Steve.
  20. Thank you everyone. Ian where are you living now?
  21. Hi all hope this is the right place for this? I am looking to buy a new record player. Ideally an all in one deck/amp/CD/DAB radio. An old style music system would be ideal. Anyone with hints or tips please on whats best on the market. Even just a record deck/amp and speakers. Looked on amazon and tinternet etc. Just so much stuff to consider. I reckon on a budget of £500 to £600 is about right for me. Thank You. Steve
