  1. No it wasn't Andy...never booted...reissued on Outtasite a couple of years back
  2. Blue and silver is the original issue - black and silver is the original demo - though nobody appears to have seen a demo until a long time after the issues were first found. I sold the above for over 5 grand earlier this year and it was definitely an original!
  3. Of course, I remember the name now, sorry I thought you were talking about someone in contemporary terms.
  4. They look alright but stands to reason you won't get the same results as you would off a 'proper' deck though? I was using a Stanton through an adaptor thing going directly into the Mac, was perfect but then started to get crackle on it - Tesco had these USB decks on offer last month, wooden base, look nice, only basic but the recording quality was better than that which I had with the Stanton! Thats just my opinion Chris, I might be totally wrong, I got a Vestax when they first came out but decided it was pointless so I moved it on.
  5. That's right, as my playlist at the top of the page confirms, utter pop crap.
  6. I wouldn't use a portable to record to itunes Chris, also do these Vestax have a usb out?
  7. Is that right? I didn't know that. I've only seen the reaction to it on Soul Source. Did it get the thumbs down on the oh so important Facebook groups? (Serious question)
  8. It's like handwriting saying just that - Bell Sound
  9. Carole - is it styrene or vinyl? (Styrene - thin unflexible plastic which would crack if you bent it, and you can peel the label off ; vinyl, more flexible, and you cannot remove the label) If it is styrene, in the run off it will have a triangle and a number after it - 100300 means that it was pressed in 1976, and is therefore a bootleg. If it is vinyl, and has the initials p.b. in the run off, it is a counterfeit. If it is vinyl and does NOT have p.b. scratched in the run off, it is an original.
  10. It's easy £300
  11. Bit tight with the photos though aren't they?
  12. I think that's a fair result
  13. An emidisc is an acetate...
  14. People used to choose from a list of titles and get any two cut back to back, like the one above - thats from 1975 I'd guess.
  15. Rob, why the f*ck are you arguing with yourself? Nobody's talking about playing anything on this thread..
  16. In the 70's, when a record was massive, there were only say 10 top dj's, one or two would have the original and the others would have emidiscs cut off those two originals - and play them at Wigan, Blackpool, Cleethorpes with pride! I've literally sat on the decks with Keith Minshull once at Wigan and he played EMI after EMI, Tough Girl etc.
  17. I have a Tamangoes issue and demo at the moment.
  18. Only thought that was worth about £15!
  19. https://www.rare-soul.com Guys my new website is finally ready, there's not a massive amount on it yet as I only started uploading yesterday but there are forty or fifty things in the UK and USA originals sections, also there are a couple of articles in 'Features' which you'll have seen before but you should see them now after the revamp. The player works but there's only track 1 in there at the moment. I'll be putting up digital downloads and all sorts of stuff eventually but I want to get the stock on first so if you bookmark the page, each time you come back there should be more stuff up there for sale. I will also be taking records in for other people on consignment; send them to me, I'll scan them, describe them, publish them and sell them for you, they can stay there as long as you want them to for free - I take a 20% commission. I hope you like it anyway, Mal Collins spent such a long time sorting this out for me I'd like to say many thanks to him, and his website design company is open for business. cheers Pete Smith https://www.rare-soul.com
  20. If you can me the time machine to take me back to when I wrote it, then yes!
  21. Can't wait to see if the people who think it's worth more than £300 have a bid on it of course, they've already got it...
  22. I got Gene Robertson's copy so that would also probably have come from the 100 Club. What a great record.
