  8. Its amazing what you find in Swiss shops- I was in Zurich years ago and found a copy of Condition Red on German London in Pic sleeve - However what was strange was the fact the shop only had 5 records in it as it was a designer clothes shop and thes 5 records were sat on the counter in a stand- the others were Abba/beatles/The jam and something else I cannot remeber. How are you Dave Did you get to the antique fair in Zurich station- theres quite a few record stalls there or the Market at Lucerne next to the Medival bridges
  9. Sorry Bob - Have to disagree with you as its all down to ones taste- Its amazing that even Petes experience misses a few - but thats the game I need you girl is excellent and its bloody cheap as well. I have a lovely UK demo
  10. Sorry There was a compass Test press 45 - Which I had in the 70s and someone on here now has it. Look at previous threads and you will find it. Magnificently rare but was probably done at Atlantic where a lot of test presses were done for New York labels.

Good Job that Dominic bloke on telly doesnt get involved in buying records for people! Then you would know what discount is!

I Like the way he refers to it as a DJ copy when their is no reference whatsoever so who is going to put him out of his misery?
  13. Great Tune - Never heard it before
  14. My Daughter who is 5 keeps asking me have I got Beverly Ann - You got your mind on other things. - It drives me round the twist. First soul record that influenced me was Edwin Starr - He who picks a rose and WAR because the lyrics never seem to date - which is sad!
  15. Peter Lemongello
  16. Well done but too short even 2 hours would probably not be enough for a documentary. Agree with above on the detroit aspect(More time) but also I think waht they should have done was split it into various sections eg Pre motown/ early motown years/ classic years in the 60s/ classics from the 70s/ the disco period and the fall of motown.
  17. My 3 before 8 would be Ernie Andrews - Where were you when I needed you - Capitol Freddie Scott - Brand new world - Colpix Dynamic Superiors - One nighter - Motown
  18. Mark your happy paying £30 for anything HAHA Must admit didnt know only 100 were pressed - Christ that makes it nearly as rare as Lester Tipton Can just imagine this going for £300 to £400 in a couple of years
  19. I need the contact number for " Neckender" on here (Need a record from him urgent) He doesnt post but sells records on here Cheers Steve
  20. I have to agree with most on here- I hid under the balcony near to the stage on the right hand side. I was early in that night 3rd I think and I was just changing my shoes when this Camera came towards me. I put my hand up to cover my face but it looked like I was waving. This shot was used in one of the adverts for the programme. They used the first few bars of the Lovelites as the backing music. I got on the dance floor about 3 times that night which was unusual for me as I was on until I fell down - had abreak for 15 minutes then on again but with the floor being so bloody full it just put me off. I was regarded as the guy who had the fastest foot shuffle you had ever seen especially to Captain of my ship- Seventh wonder but you dont see anything of me because I just didnt want be on camera - Probably because I was a student nurse at the time and could not be associated with anywhere with drugs.

Thats it - The lunatics have definately taken over the asylum One of the greatest female singers of all time. and one of the gretest soul records of all time! Could you imagine if "I just cant" was abig hit in uk Linda Jones on Top of the pops what a sight that would have been. My heart needs abreak is not bad either but I cant stop loving my baby is awesome in my opinion and should be played out more these days. Now thats an oldie I never tire of.
  22. Hopefully looks like Im sorted! Cheers Steve
