Originals Sold As Pressings?
The colour is pretty close if I remember right, but you can see a sort of rounding pattern on the label, hard to describe, but the vinyl should give it away pretty quickly. Its a reasonably flimsy pressing the boot... Ive got the boot, and the only way I'd part with it is if I had the dosh and opportunity for an original, which never seems to come up... Malcolm

A J Brown - Making Love Together
Here are three of the variant labels Baz, for your reference. One is dated 1980, so thats the second release I guess (Middle Pic), the one with a lettered logo only I dont know which one that is, maybe the original? Final one (On the far right) is the one I got from Steve, so thats the 2000 ish release? and a slightly different mix. Just listened to the two, one version starts with a double drum hit, so Duh Dum, and intro, other does not, both the intro's are slightly different before the vocal / piano start in, its a different patten in fact... I cant illustrate it with words but will try to pip a sound file up shortly... I need my coffee before fighting with the Refo section... Malcolm

Why Do People Post In Sales Then Ignore You When You Want To Buy Them?
I do agree Mark, my reply was obviously tongue in cheek. I always reply, and always be as helpful as I possibly can, I like this forum, I get allot from it. I offered a free MP3 of a want to folk on here recently, via the wants section obviously, just stated you send something back in return. I sent it to ten or so, all of them downloaded the file, but I haven't heard back from two since, don't expect to now, guess they did not like the track...and one of them is very well known on the Northern soul scene as well, his ears will be burning if he reads this I guess. Somebody mentioned including a message in the ad stating if the seller is away and when they return, I see that on ebay all the time. Mal

Why Do People Post In Sales Then Ignore You When You Want To Buy Them?

Oh Dear... Northern Dance Lessons On Radio 2
well said... I remember I was speaking to some guy at a party years ago, who had been to a do for the first time, and he told me he really hated it, the dancing, the vibe, and the music, oh and the drinks were expensive, which kinda left me with a blank expression, all I could say was along the lines of 'It's very special to me, and I love it.' so we parted company and I never spoke to him again... as for Ravin!!! Love this, cause it wasn't to far from the truth!! we've all made complete fools of our selves... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeyG4UJDlKo malcolm

Recent Sale On Manships - Mr Soul ?
No No No, if I had the cash I'd buy either.... make no mistake!! I think quite allot of what is on the net contradicts its self some times, this site has seen many examples of this recently with new to 'Soul' folk taking what they see online as gospel, allot of times it simply isn't... there are guys on here though, as no doubt your aware really do know whats what, and they have gained that experience from knowing the folk involved or simply being around when stuff come out... old gits with real deal knowledge, and I mean that very respectfully... m

Recent Sale On Manships - Mr Soul ?
Be honest I dont know why, but there are lots of cases where somebody connected with the label or song goes off and releases another 45 of a song, think 'the Phantom - Come back to me' on Karisma, and Sonny Craver on Musette, think we discussed this recently and its highly likely a different singer, also Melvin Davis on Groovesville and John L Brown - I'm Losing You is another discussed on here.. I dont think the Mr Soul is a fake, its one of those 45's that came out twice, very likely due to somebody either believing in the song, and putting it out again, Or maybe as allot of times with record labels in the 6ts there was some sort of dispute, and another 45 was released, strange it's on the same label, my examples above aren't, but we dont know. Its a puzzle for sure.. Malcolm

Recent Sale On Manships - Mr Soul ?
Same song got released twice on the same label, this is the exact same mix isn't it, not a re-recording by another artist on the label...not uncommon really...
