    Some years ago I had Jerry Williams - Run Run Roadrunner on Jamacian, only thing is it was on Calla, not Musicor, but had the Musicor cat numbers on it... since sold it on but an interesting one which relates to those 7ts boots you mention. Mal
  2. which clubs? I'd love to hear this out along with other records that I'm into but would never expect to hear a a venue.. Stuff like Paul Walters 521, Eunice Collins, Rhythm Machine Rodan, Turks DJO, Jay Griffin NOW, etc etc etc.. I would out of preference always attend the 100 club but on the few occasions I've gone anywhere else in the last 5 years I've simply accepted that I wont hear records I'd like to hear out, thats not saying I dont like oldies and all that, I do, but you know what I mean...     It does Mark, I'll pull the LP out tonioight, got it on a visit to san fran some years ago same batch as the singles she let go.. she hates the vocal on the Promo by the way, but Bill her husband persuaded he to sell the stock of 45's they had to you know who on Haight street. M

  11. I had that LP from an early age also, of a mates mum at school for £4... Not surprised you about Cry Cry Cry.. Dave Godin biged it up on the reverse if memory serves me well, what a track though...!! I was going to start a post on Bobby Bland sound alikes, I've got some nice tracks by people like Tony Boarders and Ernie Johnson who cut tracks obviously influenced by bobby's Dukes sides... could mix this with Bobby Bland releses from around the world... More Aussie to come, plus I have pulled out an 30 strong Aussie Soul Pack if anybody is interested? mostly VG+ / ++ good fillers for a collection.. Watch this space.. M

    I do think some folk just collect with the wallet.. by that I mean just buy expensive records.. I'd love to but I'm becoming tighter as I get older, all thanks to the Derek Jack school of buying records... a true Scotsman..   15. Finally, I have no idea whether Bobby's Cry, Cry, Cry got a Top Rank release in the UK? here it is Under Licence to L.J. Hooker who Festival were a division of, L.J. Hooker still sell insurance in OZ to this day! plus a clutch of AMPAR discs..and Sams "Only Sixteen".. Mal

  18. Hope Tony does not mind, Seems its all happening on here....I was collecting Aussie versions of Soul tracks, until it got silly, here are some good ones though... Heart N Soul Looks better than it sounds if you get what I mean, where as the Groove do the business on Adams Apples Brunswick recording.. I was told they were from the North Shore (Sydney) anybody? Had to pop Bobby (Boris) Pickett in there - On a Demo... OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Mal
  19. The Marvin Gaye looks well smart, especially with the Tri center... there is a chap in Beriut who was selling soul 45's some years ago, I sent USA dollars for some interesteting bits, never heard from him again!! laughs Australia you can understand, but South Rhodesian???? M

  21. Demo's are white with Black Logo, issue's are red with Gold Logo, later the purple label with small round logo just Promo in black, or something like that.. mal
  22. its present on the Blue Rock double CD, and has a release number.. but as you say seems they are not that available...is your acetate an original Blue rock / Mercury one? M
  23. Allot, Frank D and George from sydney are the men to speak to, as they are proabbly the leading collectors.. W&G was a melbourne company that had some fabulous releases, most notibly Donald Jenkins on Courtland!! as I've said I'll post more up.. m
  24. Hey how you going, yes I'm looking to return within 5 years, well thats the plan.. I loved living in sydney.. is that a NZ issue, gad damm,the bloke who sold it to me said australian..oh well its still nice. I have tons more I'm gonna post up tonight.. M
