Emma Noble - Table Dancers - New Single Out Now
I think Emma's first single was her best, and because of when it was released, mid covid lockdown, reminds me of that time, I was religiously listing to Eddie Pillars show on a Thursday, I still do, and I have to say his show and that track were a life line to normality... We shouldn’t be too harsh on Emma's music, sure it's poppy, but I can highlight far worse... good luck to her, this track isnt for me, but I hope it sells bucket loads...

Exciting New Release From North Broad St Records
Is this taken from the acetate that came up on Ebay some years back? think there may have been a few copies, or discs with either all or some of the tracks on there..

Tee Jay Records
as it says, Hanks reissued tracks on Spartan such as 'The Hawk' that was originally on MAHs.. there were not many on Spartan were there, its simply a comparison of thr type of label ken. Anyhow this looks to be another painful post, lets ditch it, Ive better things to do mate..

Tee Jay Records
Just listening to a Roscoe Shelton track on Tee Jay Records, 45 Cat and Discogs have this as a child label to Ref-O-Ree, Tee Jay is Ted Jarrett, so I guess this is like Mike Hank's Sparton lablel, a place he put out songs written and procduced by himself. 'What Is It, Baby' is a good track too. I wonder what other little labels Ted put out, and are there anymore releases on Tee Jay, looks to only be two on Discogs / 45 cat. Freddie Waters A: Love Is A Two Way Thing B: I've Got A Good Love Tee Jay [Ted Jarrett] USATJ87007"0 Roscoe Shelton A: Worry B: What Is It, Baby? Tee Jay [Ted Jarrett] USATJ87017"0

Vent 1009. J.M. Disappeared ?
That’s interesting El Zarape was a Texas label, they put out all manor of tex : mex music including some nice artists from Panama. Piotr On here sells allot of that stuff.

Vent 1009. J.M. Disappeared ?
I'm no Soul Gannet like you lot, but the text is the immediate giveaway to my eyes, that is not a sixties typeface is it...or is it? as Chalky says its actually a pretty easy spot when you look close. This all reminds me of that Johnny Watson - It's Better To Cry track that fooled a big DJ and lots of folks, and the type on that label looked immediately wrong as well, think that may have come via John also?? dunno long time ago now. You lot have seen enough original vinyl to know the difference...trust your eyes..!! and to prove the point

Kurt Harris Emperor of my Babys heart - West Coast
Think this is alot rarer on West Coast 45, they are all vinyl aren't they. I did have a nice Ruby Winters - Better West coat Styrene with MR stamp, that did look nice 🙂 long time ago, £15 from Mick Smith, them was the Dayz...
-
Vic Marcel Info ?
I like his RCA side "You still got me" was a Steve Plumb suggestion, good record.
-
Dean Chalkley - New Perspectives
Just ordered one, I was very impressed with the YT clip, quality music, which is what we like. What did strike me was how young these dudes were, I must be old to notice that, Soul source must be giving me greay hair! anyhow Dean if your reading this, well done mate, another great project. Malcolm

The Madison Brothers & Daniel Madison
I agree, highly likely thery are no connected. Nice track though that Daniel Madison, won't set the world on fire but if your into the seriously rare...its a good one. I really liked the 'Soul Experience' Who's Lips You Been Kissing he's auctioning also... The house thang had to be unrealeted, but worth chucking in. Anyhow folks, have a listen, some rare records above, dont bother with the house track it's PISH.. 🤔

The Madison Brothers & Daniel Madison
and just to add a leftfield fling to this, Wiki has "Don't Call Me Baby" as a song by Australian house music duo Madison Avenue... thats just odd...

The Madison Brothers & Daniel Madison
Daniel Madison- It Doesn't Matter Baby

The Madison Brothers & Daniel Madison
This is one of those 'Just noticed' things. Tim Brown has a 45 for auction just now by 'Daniel Madison' called 'It Dont Matter baby' was checking it out on YT and noticed a really early 45 by the The Madison Brothers entitled 'Whats the Matter Baby'. They don't sound a like to me at all, but thats not to say its not one of the brothers with a re written lyrics on an old song? wonder if anybody recognises these, they look very obscure, was daniel part of the Madison Brothers? Tim's Auction Blurb : VERY obscure Macon, Georgia release from the totally unknown Daniel Madison revealing an excellent midtempo number. Flip it over to find ‘Funky Popcorn’ which has enough funk for Funk fans but enough buzz for Northern fans too. a bit tentative, but thats what this site is all about right...? joining the dots

Group Harmony on Radio
I have listend a few of these Eddie, they are very good...

Group Harmony on Radio
Cheers Ken, great article, I'll have to read it twice, but when I saw it I thought oh Christ, its that version of "It Ain't Necessarily So" agiain! I can rememeber listening to an old mod version of that standard aound a mates haouse in the eighties on tape he had, never been able to track it down, i though some years ago it was Miles Greyson... not on You tube so I cant confirm... with an organ in the background, and almost spoken vocal, as Ive said mod record, but very good track. that whole thing is a head fuck for me, that bloody record!! wish I could find it...! thanks for the article...

Group Harmony on Radio
Like those Rod, knew the one, not the other... I guess what Im asking for here is the more soulful side of Group Harmony or Doo Wop as allot call it. Not all of those records selected for the LP "Under the street lamp" were really early sixties, but the LP had a sound to it... as time has gone on we know more about these groups, but back then that LP was a revelation for allot of folks, I collected them all, but I still put the Lp on and listen through... SS did a few more CD's in the 9ts as well, with stuff like 'The Executive Four - You Are' Lumar, 'The Limelights - You Don't Love Me Anymore' Uncle ,The Appreciations - No No No' Aware and so on... I got a copy of 'The Ambassadors – Too Young For Me' on Fleet not long ago, a serious bit of Group Harmony that... thats the stuff Im looking for...
