  1. Here they both are together - must admit Scarlett looks a bit "dark"
  2. The Bobby Pruitt is the harder one to get and as has been said has gone all "massive" again at the moment. The Aston Martinez remix is the one you want of that. That's part of a two record 12 on Soulfuric, but you can leave the other record behind, as it's all horrible dubs and stuff. "Love don't live" also came out on a UK CD single, for those that don't really need the vinyl. The CD single contains the "Radio version" and "full length" versions of the classic club Mix, so has the short version thatSam dubbed onto a 7" ..I got it on CD when I was buying all those cheap promos that Mike whathisname (ex Northern guy) used to tout round the southern record fairs a few years ago. Kenny Lattimore "Sutty"? Which one "Days like this"? Bloody awesome tuneage too. Steve
  3. It's a very rare version by the 4 Vandals
  4. Agree that's who it is. Presumably a demo cut to show Candi how to sing it. Got to say it's awful, and whereas Candi is a classic Bo Fowlers version is best left firmly in the can.
  5. Same for me - hated it when I first heard it.
  6. Scott Tracey was last heard of living in a retirement home in Hawaii, but to all intents and purposes had "lost the plot", and I think Captain Scarlet got his comupence at the hands of Captain Black and the Mysterions in the very last episode. Anyone know what F.A.B. stood for? Loved all those 60s Gerry & Sylvia Anderson series-Thunderbirds, Capt Scarlet (Inde-structible), Century 21, Joe 90 etc, I still have some of the vinyl records, so if I didn't have the programmes all on tape, I'd be watching.
  7. It was only filmed on the one night, and was quite controversial at the time - many people saw it as commercialisation of the scene, and thus an unwelcome media intrusion. I remember watching "This England" with my parents when it was aired - how embarrassing was that?

Yup and Lalo Shiffrin's soundtracks are all excellent as well.

The writing is one the wall for us then in a few years Merry Xmas

This is why I don't go a bundle on some of the soul mags- you'd get a more realistic review in "The Sun" Anyway Bill Wright is a legend so enough of this, even if I don't like True Image - Is the B side a deep soul gem? Merry Xmas Steve
  12. Am hoping to get over in 2008, work permitting. Have a good Xmas Steve
  13. The answer is they're both equally as good in their own right. Agree Wet Paint is a fab label, but we're judging the songs not the labels

But he has a chip on his shoulder about soul records for reasons best known to himself!

He's got a Joe Dossett on there which is great midtempo crossover soul, and an old Yarmouth spin of mine. What a prune though with all that "I am not a soul dealer and never will be" baloney. A bit of a motormouth by the sounds of it. What does he like then?

Oh he'll be making a mint then in the next few years if he works in the oil industry. Wasn't dissing the guy - cos I don't know him - just thought Simon was on one of his wind ups.
  17. Merry Xmas Gavin and everyone else. I am full of Christmas spirit
  18. Why ever not - it's not like he moves fast?
  19. No not wrong, he gave them away outside church.
  20. Can't open the link - what is it please?
  21. Oh sometimes when I've got nothing better to do Have a good Christmas
  22. It's a northern soul revival night - but two of the bands cancelled at the last moment apparantly - the mind boggles!

You did bring him once cos we all thought he was a bit miserable

Ask him if it's the rare version with the hidden bonus tracks including Footsee (vocal).
