  1. Its another guy who was at school with him and sang with him and said he was black He lived 6 blocks from PJdoowop according to one comment.
  2. Freebie
  3. I always play Lps nowadays the odd time I get behind the decks.
  4. According to the youtube comments, the guy that went to school with Bobby Kline, sang with his brother and Bobby, says he was african american. That seems to be the most credible of the comments, there’s that word again 😂
  5. Been plenty of copies of the 45 over the years but it is a keeper for those who have it or get it. Its no rarer than the Lp really as the 45 came with the Lp. The Lp though is picking up demand as Djs realise it isn’t all ablut 45s and you can play Lps.
  6. Also if you read the comments he is both black and white according to people who knew Bobby. Maybe we have two Bobby Kline's?
  7. I was referring to the wiki page which casts him as a member.
  8. I’ve done the google mate, it tells us nothing practically. Wiki is notorious for false info too. I reckon they have taken him as a member because of his credit on the disc rather than any credible source.
  9. Read the comments for the youtube clip below. Someone says they went to school with Bobby Kline and that he and his brother sang with him. He also states Bobby Kline was African American. His girlfriend or ex also comments but gives us nothing. The comments by PJdoowop are the ones that are the most interesting
  10. Do you have some links Drew!
  11. Another sad loss 😥 https://eu.commercialappeal.com/story/news/2019/05/28/stax-mad-lads-vocalist-john-gary-williams-has-died-memphis-music/1258895001/

More sad news that broke this afternoon https://www.soultracks.com/story-willie-ford-dies
  13. R.I.P. John Gary Williams. View full article
  14. Reading the main Doowop pages/blogs, they don’t mention Kline as a member of the Ocapellos.
  15. Dunno why as there are 1000s of originals not 200 as some seem to think. There are also plenty of Djs with these so called classic biggies so why the need to compete or add to the count? Are people so incapable of creating something by themselves and not follow the flock. Be the shepherd not the 🐑
  16. I think the opposite for any aspiring Dj, grow a pair and use some imagination. You are highly unlikely to get on the treadmill at the top end with all the cheque book Djs about, seek out some of the lesser played stuff. I mean lets face it the only reason many of these records are the price they are is because of so many chasing them in the hope they will get £50 Dj money at the dog and duck, vastly over priced and rarely anything to do with rarity.
  17. Used to be in every sales box in the 80s and 90s, both labels, 100s of em.
  18. @Venus I think posted the video, maybe she can help. Carol's daughter was on backing.
  19. Great photo of the lady that John Anderson posted on facebook at one time...
  20. That was my understanding, four cut two released, two lost in the vaults.
  21. There was apparently two other tracks cut in the studio but I am unaware of any other 45. Tim Ashibende might know more as he met her. @colouredman
  22. Dean is joined in the studio once more by Kev Roberts for two hours of quality northern, modern and bit of that funky stuff. Some great stories and chat as well.
  23. Thats the difference, dad taking lad......in our day we’d have sneaked off 😂
  24. Unfortunately I can’t make it mate. Fantastic venue and should be a regualr venue on the scene for niters once more
  25. I have to agree there are anoraks in all genres. Me dad went all over to see Country acts. He didn't live and breathe it though.
