Record shipping from the USA
Shipping rates for a container have never been cheaper. As Andy says find a shipping agent and they will do it all for you, all you have to do is get the goods to them or they can arrange collection. We collect stuff for shipping/export and it can be one pallet our a full load (33 euro pallets). I know one dealer who recently had stock delivered via container and it has been done like that over the years too.

new pressing plant in Detriot
Every thing deteriorates with use. But you said you can only play them a small number of times before they pack up which isn't true. I agree though I would protect any rare acetate only track etc by cutting a vinyl copy.

Anyone remember this...?
I think the record hound bit isn't true, maybe the Macclesfield bit too, I know who it was supposed to be and Guy said it never happened. I can't find a sniff of any info anywhere about him. There is a singer in the US called Joe Clements but nothing about this track in his bio.

They are not really actetate, it is nitrocellulose lacquer. And as for the shelf life bit of a falacy as I know of many that are fine after many many plays.

Listed it ten years ago for 400. Not sure what demand there would be now? Extremely rare.

But the 45 is simply a way of getting the art out in the public domain for the artist, the same can be said for downloads, cds and Lps. If the reissue or any other medium is legal it should not detract from the art and I doubt the artist(s) care very little about what we think as long as they get paid their dues? I fully understand the concept of OVO as far as this scene goes. And an acetate is about as original as it gets so the felow Dj was simply being a clueless tw*t. Would he have had a go at Butch etc? Anyway no wish to turn this into another OVO bootleg debate. The pressing plant can only be a positive, creative musicians are still out there. There is a glut of new soul music as well as many other genres and the rise in demand for vinyl is great for those that appreciate music.

Sounds nothing like either of those to me ears, certainly nothing like Joe Brown.

Plenty of shite in all eras. There was a lot at Stafford in the relentless pursuit of newies. Never done a lot for me this record.

Not sure why this will result in an increase in reissues? There is a waiting list of months for any pressing in the US, I was told approx 8 months. The majors will get preference over the little guys.

Almost Forgotten - Early 80's Allnighter Sounds PART 2
Guy covered up the Romeos. He said Soulful Two was an oldie by Stafford and had been about since the late 70s.

lps offers please
Might be better putting a price on, many reluctant to make an offer and most are fairly cheap too.

Twisted Wheel II: Brazennose & Whitworth Street 1963-1971 Out Now
I asked Brian about the Delco's he said Roger may have played it once or so. It ain't a wheel record though if if it was played. It is so out of place though amongst the early Wheel tunes (that I am aware of) in style though and on that playlist it stands out like a sore dick.

They actually took me in the office

Betty Harris at the 100 club
They blamed it on the promoters after previous acts complained. All they had to do was ask the promoter if it was ok and there wouldn't have been a problem.

Northern soul collecting!! Is it a con?
If you know what you are buying and agree to buy it for the price stipulated how can it be a con? Are they overpriced, in general yes but again it is what someone is prepared to pay. As I said buy within your means. Keep chasing the stuff out of your reach then you are golfing to be disappointed.
