Monarch Records - ever in vinyl?
Whilst monarch was well known for their styrene 45s they also had their own vinyl presses. You only have to look at the work they did for others, especially LPs.

The Birth of Soul
As I said as in any genre there are always certain records that are recognised as the beginning of any genre.

Garage records played at Niters.
Garage, didn't the term come from where they generally practised as they had no access to proper facilities, namely the Garage. Just guitar bands from my understanding.

My Mixcloud Page
Been awhile since my last mix so playing catch up a little. Not been buying much of late but still some tasty stuff out there. Plenty of 45 and CD releases from Kent Records including the fantastic 45 of Valerie Simpson's "It's Just Love" which many of us have urged Ady to put out. The other side is great as well. CDS including the forthcoming New Breed "Money Talks", The Gamble & Huff Songbook & Johnnie Taylor's Stax singles 1966-1970. New 45s from Soul Direction, Soul Junction and Soul 4 Real. There's a few oldies thrown in for good measure.

Bobby Bennett – Big New York / Baby, Try Me
As soon a Belgium is mention many think boot without checking. The layout also throws some as it differs to the issue or the issues I've seen.

The Birth of Soul
Whilst I agree the transition from say blues/R&B to soul was over a few years there are, like in any genre certain records that kick things off, Ray Charles in the 50s often given as an example. Sam Cooke often cited for when Soul went mainstream.

This is the first release with Love Slipped on. Being The Man That I Am is also very good and one I used to play out years ago. https://www.discogs.com/master/3335386-Ohio-Players-16-Greatest-Hits

Champions League - New Format?
Have to say this season’s Champion’s League, under the new format has been pretty exciting. Teams have gone for it with goals galore and very few boring pointless matches. PSG whilst scraping through the group in their final game if memory serves are worthy winners. They played some great football, especially in the knock out rounds. The best teams were all in the pot, usually the draws engineered so the top teams had a better chance of getting through but not the case this season. It’s been more like the European Cup of old.
