  1. I have to agree with you Tezza in that many mentioned either no longer have the records or the collections and others wouldn't last two minutes at an all-nighter. I don't know what world some live in but anyone playing modern or crossover by and large wouldn't go down well at an all-nighter, regardless of the fact that the records they have are excellent but just wrong for an all-nighter. Some might go down well in a side room playing to their mates or 30 or 40 people but large room definitely not. It would be nice if we could get back to one venue playing across the decades but it will never happen. Lifeline is probably the closest and we struggle these days when we stray too far from the 60's, todays nighter goers just don't want anything other than 60's, that is the reality of today's scene. Many mentioned seem to be favourite DJ's or DJ's who play to their taste, not what is needed at an all-nighter. I also think we sometimes get too wrapped up in "named" DJ's. It shouldn't matter really as long as the DJ has some imagination, can put a set together and brings something to the table that isn't already on offer.
  2. I'll give that a miss thanks Bob If no joy with iTunes you could always try something like Feedburner which I find pretty good.
  3. will download both when I get home Bob, cheers. Did you ever look into iTunes or RSS Reader, would get the new uploads automatically then.
  4. Lighting wasn't good to start with but once stage lights were turned on it improved 100%. I was surprised the sound quality on the videos so good considering I was stood at side of speakers
  5. why not add some to the discussion then?
  6. Just looking on line they have released King Moses "I've Got This Feeling", Norris Vines "Give In" and Sweet Inspirations. All out of Toronto. Just tried their website, unregistered domain or summat.
  7. just listened now at home and as far as Wigan type instrumentals go not bad but wouldn't want to hear it out nowadays to be honest. Thinking about it doubt Lou would have anything to do with it?? Supposed to be a legit Canadian label reading on the net.
  8. At a guess it came from Lou Barretto who release Gloria Jones Gone With The Wind recently via Soul Purpose (Phil Dick's label I think). Don't know who is behind Soul Tribe though.
  9. I was referring to the charges the ticket agency add on Steve for nothing next to nothing. I have no issues paying £20 to see an act, particularly if they have a good back catalogue like BM does. I'd love to go and see her but with fuel and having to take two days off work I somehow doubt it. Why they don't schedule these shows for the weekend when the chance of ticket sales is greater is beyond me.
  10. Yeah I think the pckage does a tour every year, she was over with Natural Four I'm sure. At the o2 arena last time if i remember rightly. I suppose with just one show you can get away with fleecing fans.
  11. you don't listen on twitter, you follow the link which took me to UK itunes which doesn't yet have the album, not available inthe UK yet via itunes. Full stream of the LP here.....
  12. Barbara Mason was over here last year wasn't she on Giants Of Rare Groove tour? Is there just the one show?
  13. Like you Greg I'm guilty of buying "Papermoon" as well, it ws still covered up I think when I got it. I've ben playing the Jesse Slaughter out for a while now when I get the chance.
  14. Jesse S...Slaughter? Yep Guy at Stafford, Lee Valentine cover up.
  15. Jackson Brothers was Rufus Lumley "Somebody Told Me"......Keb!
  16. ZZ Hill went in my play box couple of weeks ago, other side good as well.
  17. Today is your last chance to donate to this worthy cause that the four intrepid golfers have been supporting and raising funds for. Any support will be more than appreciated.
  18. Still gets plays Pete, Andy Dyson plays it occasionally and off course it was a Dean/Kitch cover up early 90's.
  19. Nolan performing "If I Could Only be Sure" and "Keep On Keeping On" at last nites allnighter
  20. Hi Sean, I know Steve's was early 90's, sure he was doing it when he frequented Thorne? A mate in Chesterfield had everyone of RS's "Soul Source" on Hallam on tape.
  21. Don't know if it's been mentioned but Al Kent "The Way You've Been Acting Lately" is worth a mention.
  22. anyone go? how was he?
  23. didn't someone called Richard Searling have a radio show as well Snooker star Steve davis also had one, Radio Invictus I think. But unles it was national or you lived within range of the signal you never heard any of them back then.
  24. There are plenty DJing with taste playing dance music from cheap to expensive but you wouldn't know that not having been out for a long time? You speak as though you know better than anyone else? Too many of late seem to like nothing better than drag a topic down in my PERSONAL opinion. Like I said this topic is a bit of fun and simply about the music so just for once can we leave the the politics about DJ's and promoters with no taste for another topic.
