Patti & The Emblems Demo
Steve and anyone else. Roger looks after The Sharp End of Vinyl. Only he has the ability to start topics. It is basically an archive of all the useful info discussed on here. There are links to all the topics, labels, artist etc we have already discussed. Any new topics discussed that have invaluable info will be moved in to the Sharp End. It might be worth a quick search or look in there to see if the info you want isn't already there. You can still contribute to topics in there though.

Del Rays Destination Unknown
I've seen enough copies the last two years or so to more than satisfy those on here who want one for £150. Now you kow full well now some loon paid so much for one, and others on here saying it is worth £250 one so you have no chance of paying what it has cost in more recent times.

Side by side yes, the green is much darker.

Thats all it is worth tops IMO Dave (£150), anyone who pays £250/£300 needs their head looking at.

Quality Record Box Wanted
I had a 200 box made to measure by swanflight. I wanted a single row 200 count but they didn't do one, only 100 count but when I spoke to them they were more than helpful and more than happy to make a 200 one for me.

Mr Manships Auction Results 30-5-2012
Same with the Delrays Inc, not too long ago they could pick that up for £150....now a few Dj's behind it and it is again a big record they will pay through the nose. There is no way on this earth Delrays is worth half what the Limelights is worth.

Mr Manships Auction Results 30-5-2012
That is because the scene is full of DJ's with no imagination who dare not take a chance on a record, they have to play a guaranteed floor packer every other DJ is playing in case they lose a booking. It is a f*cking great dancer, better than some of the dross that is masquerading as Northern Soul. What more does a DJ want in a record? If Butch played it and it went massive they would pay five times this for it!!!!

Boot Or Not ?

Lifeline June 30th Allnighter Cancelled
All I can say is we have never really suffered in August to be honest.

Lifeline June 30th Allnighter Cancelled
I've no wish to get involved in any politics but we simply felt with the current economical climate and with the summer months in general being a little slower for all-nighters that we would take a summer break and return in August. Most will probably choose the weekenders for their entertainment and they are not cheap. As I said WE WILL BE BACK IN AUGUST. Hopefully the guest DJ's will be confirmed this week and I will post the details as soon as they are. See you in Cleethorpes if you are going.

Lifeline June 30th Allnighter Cancelled
I'm sorry to say but this night has been cancelled. There is an abundance of major soul events on during June and in our opinion the scene cannot sustain the amount of events being promoted so Lifeline has decided with missing April we will take an extended break and miss June as well. We will return in August. It is absolutely crazy the current situation, how long it can carry on we don't know. There is Cleethorpes this month which has been going for nearly 20 years (a weekend I wouldn't miss). Manchester decided last year to put on a weekend and are doing the same again. Besides this there is Bridlington. There is also an extended Bank Holiday with added nighters and dayers, your regular all-nighters and your usual monthly events. It all adds up to much IMO, not enough punters to go round, many who are feeling the pinch with the recession as it is. I'm not sure how much money promoters think ordinary people have but the situation is getting ridiculous. As I said rest assured Lifeline will be back in August. One guest is finalised, another to be confirmed. As soon as all is confirmed i will post details. chalky image © Pauline Eccles cc-by-sa

Eddie Daniels, Is He Better Than Me
Soussan introduced it to these shores in 1975 or 1976 as far as I am aware, it is on a list of his from then for a fiver I think. The list can be found on this forum as well. Soussan also booted it, a very good almost identical boot. I've been told it did get plays at Wigan but must have been brief, nothing like anything else form back then really?

Response To Pete S's Post In The Ian Levine Mix Thread And You
But everything in life isn't good, just like everything in Ian's podcasts aren't good to some. We shouldn't keep negative opinions to ourselves just cause it might upset someone. If going to give an opinion or view about something then it should be a balanced one, both good and bad. As long as the criticism is constructive, or a reason giving for one's dislike then what is wrong with that? Like you said peoples views should be respected.

Hyperions Why You Wanna Treat Me This Way
It was hammered well before the 90's. I remember Rob playing it three times at 100 club one night, probably 1987, he said I'm gonna play this till you dance he then continued to hammer it through the late 80's and 90's.
