  1. Wouldn't have thought there was much in it price wise between demo and issue.
  2. His myspace page shows concerts around Europe and the UK..... http://www.myspace.com/leefields/shows
  3. Thanks to Mick H off to see him in Leeds, London and Manchester also on the schedule I think. Here's the Leeds link http://www.seeticket...Wardrobe/611643
  4. Great record, played it out other week.
  5. Phot of them at https://www.myspace.com/froggybottomswamprockers/photos/9024595#%7B%22ImageId%22%3A9024595%7D Also on ARV. https://www.chicanosoul.com/music_clips/Labels%20I-L.htm
  6. I don't think members have a problem with their work being shared. The problem lies with those sharing if that is the right word and taking the credit. This isnt an order rather than a request for others to show a bit of respect and give credit where credit is due.
  7. What do you mean? One member has seen his work used elsewhere lifted straight off here and he isn't too chuffed. The site doesn't want members to stop sharing info but that could happen. Like I said it's common decency to ask or acknowledge.
  8. Quickly scanned the liner notes (Kerry keeps shouting "am I gonna do owt today or what ) but it would appear the Mainstream LP was left unordered on the company's shelves and the lack of sales was the final straw for Alice who drifted away from the music industry and has not been heard of since. Dean Rudland compiled the CD and did the liner notes, he may have heard something since the CD was issued. Great CD btw.
  9. The Cd I have which is titled "The Complete Studio Recordings" 1968-1972 lists only what you have Cliff plus the unissued Mainstream instrumental to You hit Me and an unissued Rainy Day track "Before Her Time". Unless she did anything after 1972 it would appear she dropped right off the music scene. I'll have a read of the liner notes later.
  10. It has come to the attention of the moderators that certain members are blatantly lifting scans (labels, pictures etc) for use on their own site without permission or credit. Most members are more than willing to share this information and gladly take the time and effort to share information for the benefit of others. The scanning of records and the editing of the scans and the collating of information does take time and effort and it would appear some members are taking liberties when they are lifting these scans and the information provided with them for their own sites with not one mention of the source of the information. If a member does wish to use information provided by other members I would think it was common courtesy and good manners to seek permission and credit the original source. I know most do but it would appear some are not. Can I ask any member who wishes to use information provided by others to seek permission or at the very least credit the source on your site. I have no wish to see members stop providing scans and other information simply because other members lack the common courtesy to seek permission or give credit where credit is due.

you will be, very rare and hardly ever seen for sale.
  12. It did Sutty. This is from the Michigan Chronicle about his death (from Soulful Detroit) "A bullet fired by an off-duty policeman ended the life of singer Darrell Banks, who made history among his peers in the entertainment field several years ago when scoring a million seller hit with "Open the door".
  13. It's like any program about any music genre, they never let the facts get in the way of a good story. I was surprised it took so long to get to the Bee Gees and John Travolta
  14. As far as I know Greg Tormo had the first "known" copy. Not to say there could have been and still could be other copies out there. I haven't sen a white demo.
  15. Butch's wasn't as far as I am aware the one of ebay which some might consider pricey but for a record of less than 5 known copies with two great northern sides, is it really that pricey? Still only a handful of copies. It was known for some time to Butch through Greg Tormo who had what appears to be the first known copy. Mick H and Arthur later got copies.
  16. there was one in sales earlier this week at a bargain price.
  17. Merged the two topics regarding this 45, another topic not really needed when the previous one still pretty fresh.
  18. If you'd asked me before the auction I would have said £1000, £1200 maybe for a minter. One sold on ebay for over £2k in 2006 and there are three others over $2000 listed and several in not so good nick to sh*t condition over $1000, one with edge crack and vg- went for $1400.
  19. I agree a Dj should get to the venue as early as possible but to insist they stop till the end is plain ridiculous and besides what a DJ does once he has done what he has been asked to do is f*ck all to do with anyone else. No one shouls have to explain themselves to anyone least of all you Nige who has gone right through the scene without a break. It is high time some stopped interfering or telling others what to do with their lives. Some should take a long look at the state they get themselves in at their ages all in the name of being a hardcore soulie.
  20. I struggle these days with a nightr but I do work 60 to 70 hours most weeks and often away from home, 4 am will do me these days. If I worked normal hours etc then a nighter wouldn't be a problem.
  21. My fault, must have missed the title when copying and pasting the info (with ipad) to here. will amend.
