The Darling Dears
Not Northern really Pete but there is a market out there for records like this...all the stock he had sold easily. Along with the Soul Bros Six rarity on Fine he found the remaining stock of.

The Darling Dears
The guy found all the remaining stock not so long ago. One or two got a copy cheap and sold on ebay for lots, he saw this happening and came on here to tell the story. he was selling them all at a reasonable price. I'll see if I can find the link when I get a bit of time.

Ronnie Mccain - This Time I'm Gone - Ever Played Out?
I was gonna say this was about before Crossover was a twinkle in Rod Dearloves eye.
-
Jimmy Burns - Audiodisc
Don't think (if I remember rightly) Capitol Magnetics appeared till the 70's when Audiodisc sold their operation to Capitol. We did discuss the history a while back. Some links...... https://www.apollomasters.com/story.html https://www.phonozoic.net/recordio/

Anyone Know Where I Can Get Lyrics For A Record From ?
Are these them....... I miss the sand on the concrete floor I miss the way it was before No one even knew me Your eyes looked right through me And I'm takin' off your clothes And you bloom like a rose Can't get away from you I can't get away from you And where the ocean meets the land Is like the slidin' of your hand That prickles up my skin And I can feel the changing weather While alone along that coast It sends memories of your ghost Away from you I can't get away from you I can't get away from you I can't get away from you Deliver me (Turn to me and one thing that trips me up) Shut me up (One thing that trips me up, one thing, won't give it up) Deliver me (One thing close to me and one thing that trips me up) (One thing reminded me and I go and walk alone) Deliver me (One thing [incomprehensible]) Deliver me (One thing won't let me go, no and I can't go home) Deliver me Through the airport corridors In the magazines, in stores If I see your face once more 'Cause you know I can't ignore it And I recognize that pose When you bloomed like a rose I can't get away from you I can't get away from you I can't get away from you I can't get away from you The jeep gets broken on a blown out road And I'm a tourist with a real light load And with the government hold another month away The messed up places where we always stayed Funny when we always pick these spots Feeling like I have in the land of 'have nots' Sleeping on cots, wishing that I had some tater-tots And there's postcards written I know I'll never send The moment is gone And it won't come again I ride with souls that find no peace Still I look to you to find release Find release, find release I walked with travelers returning through the panic doors Walking through the airport corridors Welcome back now from foreign shores And I walk alone and the ghost that I carry is you Tiger sharks in the azure blue The vision you had returns to you Returns to you, returns to you

James Dockery
Yeah noticed the credits are the same, address etc, just strange the demo is very similar to the red label copy and nothing like the blue label issue. Like you say a rare one either way, thanks for posting.
-
James Dockery
Cheers Nev. Like I said don't recall ever seeing one. You say it is the same as the 70's Blue label copy but doesn't make sense really as the layout is almost the same as the red label release?

Are Some Northern Fans More Into Collecting Than The Music?
There's rubbish on most labels that are of no interest other than to complete the label run.
-
James Dockery
If I've seen one I can't recall it mate.

There's talk of one in this topic...... And possibly in this topic

Are Some Northern Fans More Into Collecting Than The Music?
I do agree with you Bob that too much emphasis is put upon the records that command a high price and often ignore the vast majority that are well within most collectors budget. This scene however was built upon rare records that were exclusive to the DJ or to a certain few, still is to some extent. Collecting and the "scene" are different even though they are heavily linked.

Are Some Northern Fans More Into Collecting Than The Music?
Too much off topic creeping in to certain topics. Ask all members to try and please keep it to a minimum. Other members who don't have a lot of spare time do complain about opening posts to find nothing of interest. I'm all for a bit of light hearted relief or humour in a topic especially one of the more serious ones but some members go to far. Jokes should be in freebasing. Will tidy this topici up later.

Comedy Sale Of The Day
Hardly a comedy sale is it? You don't need the tape to do a bootleg, not stopped the bootleggers yet. As said plenty of talk already on Soul Source about it.

James Dockery
I can't recall seeing a demo/white demo?

Milton Wright On Alston
We all have different tastes Bob and would be boring if we all liked the same stuff. Can't remember last time I heard the Milton Wright so will have a listen first opportunity.

Current Value Of These Two?
Thought Grey Imprint was £1500, will have to check. One was sold for £2k not do long ago.
-
Current Value Of These Two?
Put Oscar Perry on Andy Dyson's list, one before last. Without checking (not got list with me but it is on here) I think it was £900 and it went quickly. Rare record.

Northern Soul
Lorenzo, you should buy this book... The In Crowd: The Story of the Northern and Rare Soul Scene by Mike Ritson (Author), Stuart Russell (Author) It will give you a very good insight into the history of Northern Soul up to the end of Wigan Casino I think, 1981. Another (and cheaper option) is The Story of Northern Soul by Dave Nowell. He is a member as well and was selling this for about 7 quid not so long ago.

BobA's UK Scene Questions
he does as Mace says and I've a lot of time for Callum as well. Clearly loves the music and gets about.

BobA's UK Scene Questions
Sorry Bob but it doesn't work like that here. The youngsters that attend clubs such as I've mentioned simply do not travel, a few do but by and large they don't. They have no wish to leave their own particular area. As said most that attend are old enough to be some of the kids grand-parents and no matter how funky, hip or cool its not cool enough. Added to that some of the venues are in working men's clubs, and halls that have seen better days, some venues are dumps that I've no wish to attend let alone some trendy 20 year old. Their venues are not offering anything that isn't out there across the country. It is nothing to do with the music being hip or cool or somewhere having a buzz. Plenty of places play music that is fresh, imaginative and some of the djs have records others can only dream about but they struggle to attract paying customers.
