  1. The Intentions (different spelling too, has a "T" not an "S") on Phillips is a different group, should be a photo of them in the gallery somewhere. Refosoul down for the time being.
  2. Quite a few on your list Tim still getting spins. The Bobby Williams certainly has in recent years, even made a CD comp of Goldmine. Delrays Inc getting hammered a bit over last couple of years or so.
  3. You'll be saying Gordy/Tamla Motown a private press next. RAM was distributed for sales so how can it be a private press? It was a commercial press, the label might be owned by Richie, the money could have come from elsewhere. Where ever it came from it was aimed at the commercial markets. Mine is 1990 and I've never seen a 1979 press either.
  4. Hope Eddie gets back his records. Makes you wonder if it's worth the risk DJing at times
  5. When was take 2 recorded Tony? Same session as take 1? Only reason I ask is no details of it on Keith's site unless I've missed it.
  6. It would appear so. Info from "Dont' forget the Motor City"....this is I think prior to the recent cd release of the Monitors on Kent. Crying In The Night (William Weatherspoon-James Dean) publ. Jobete The Monitors; recorded Hitsville, completed 14/06/1966 ; produced by William Weatherspoon ; [version 1] 18-Aug-97; CD (E): Debutante 530 818 2 This Is Northern Soul! [uK] 29-Apr-02; CD (M): Spectrum 544 707 2 Tamla Motown Big Hits And Hard To Find Classics Volume 4 [uK] 02-May-05; CD (M): Motown 067 024 2 This Is Northern Soul! The Motown Sound Volume 1 [uK] The one on ebay is a blatant bootleg but doubt they are bothered as long as the fees keep rolling in.
  7. testing.... ooh good idea. Quick way to find something you know you've posted to repost
  8. Aren't we all Ged (jealous that is)!! Tone, do you think you will ever get into the guy's house and the remaining stock? Does make you wonder what is left? Maybe you ought to give him an idea what could be in there, might give him some incentive to let you in?
  9. Reckon it is safe to say no from what we know about the story of FW, certainly not in any left over from a distributor as it was never sent for distribution nor to any DJ or radio station. But you never know another copy may be lurking after finding it's way out of the pressing plant or even Motown. Great story though btw. Were you not disappointed with the final price it achieved, particularly considering the hype given to the disc when it came up for auction, how unique it was (when we know it isn't unique) but certainly a rare rare item? Anything else as rare in the stock you found?
  10. Gene McDaniel's website
  11. Great story Robb
  12. Topic closed, enough advertising in the events forum.
  13. I presumed it is a disc pressed for non-commercial means, by that I mean not in it to make money (not initially at least).
  14. Dave can you post on the feed back topic about the upgrade about your editing problem, just so that Mike is aware. Have you pressed ctrl f5 etc? or is it just f5? No one else as I'm aware having problems in sales as can see others editing? I can see the edit button on all posts. Edit ss faded out to the left, not a button in itself anymore just the word.
  15. Not my photos, if you look again you will notice it is Dean Chalkley (has an extra "L"). They are good photos though.
  16. you see some of the young folk from up t'north dressed in a similar way, by that I mean more fashion conscious, music and fashion always gone hand in hand.
  17. so are some of the responses from some of you. It is as though no one is allowed to do anything that has something to do with Northern Soul unless they follow your rules.
  18. Not saying anything of the sort Pete but is there really any need for the zzzzzzz type comments? And just what is a representation of Northern Soul these days? Yourself, Steve maybe?
  19. gotta agree although when read the comments on here at times makes one wonder why some bother.
  20. There's an article about this exhibition on the site... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/news-soul/young-souls-northern-soul-photo-exhibition-and-short-film-r2228
