  1. Silky Hargreaves - Keep Loving Me Like You Do - Dearborn And the video clip is a wma sound file, same as mp3 which unfortunately aren't allowed.
  2. If someone is genuinely out to rip someone off then I'd have thought comments would be appropriate but as a rule comments discouraged unless a question about the sale (and I don't mean "don''t you think this is over priced" kinda comment). Comments simply lead to trouble as it has proved time and time again.
  3. Dunno haven't thought too much about it to be honest. It will be 60's all the way I think and of the right tempo hopefully
  4. as long as I've been involved with the Mod side Pete comments have been discouraged except for specific questions about a sale item. You get one then you get 20 and as I said it can ruin a potential sale.
  5. I don't know any DJ who has set out to play entirely to himself and clear the floor. I know of many promoters who have book a DJ to play certain records when the records are not suited for the venue, thats hardly the DJ's fault and he's on a loser to start with but the punters never have a go at the promoter, always the DJ who gets it in the neck!!
  6. posts relating to what others think the price should be removed, dunno how many times we have to tell you not to comment on others sales, you wouldn't like if it was your sale that you are potentially spoiling. The price is between the seller and the buyer/potential buyer.
  7. One of the best double siders money can buy (IMO of course).
  8. That was me Pete, got to be strict with the mp3's. But I did find the YT one pretty quick so stuck it in whilst editing.
  9. The emphasis at Lifeline is of course the dance floor, the dance floor rules. You cannot play to collectors on the balcony or in any other record bar and have a successful night. Of course Lifeline puts the emphasis on the lesser known, rarities, £5 to £25,000 but not the stuff you hear at almost every other venue week in week out. We want something different, we want the DJ's to get into their collection and pull out stuff they normally wouldn't but they have to be dance floor orientated, if they don't work well there's not a lot we can do about that, we have at least tried and that is what Lifeline is all about , there's a 1001 other venues that play the same old same tried and trusted Northern Soul. Of course you cannot go for 8 hours with records nobody knows so there has to be a balance and we think we have that balance about right.

  12. Like I said last one I saw was £150.
  13. I doubt very much you would get me in the midlands doing an oldies set, do the Midlands promoters book anyone these days from outside their patch? Last oldies set I did in the midlands would have been at The Hollingwood Hotel when I was resident, mid 90's!!
  14. The kenny Gamble the last one I saw was £150 but it could have been issue, not sure if there is a difference either way as it is obscure. Used to play this one out in late 80's early 90's. I sold it for £75 years ago. Not sure of a current price to be honest as not really seen that many or been looking/taking much notice.
  15. I don't consider myself any different to anyone else who uses this site except I help out on the looking after side of things. My age matters little but I'm 44, been collecting and listening to rare soul and attending venues for some 27 years or so. I think that gives me all the knowledge and experience needed to collect and to DJ, I've DJ'ed all ove the country, whether I have been to this venue or that venue matters little if you ask me. I dare say I've more experience than many who went to Wigan, Torch etc cause many had 20 years off the scene. I've bought and sold records for most of those years, some of my best mates are record dealers, I still go to venues that have record dealers and DJ's that go to listen, Lifeline all-nighter has one of the busiest record bars in the country but I fail to see what this has to do with how good you are at DJing or whether you can DJ with or without a cheque book? At the end of the day it is mostly down to knowledge. Both Butch and Keb were/are 100 Club residents so that is probably why the Southern lot mention then so often but they were DJ's all over the country. PS I know Notts Odd Fellows as well so you don't have to explain to me, I'm not that young.
  16. Both sides of Matt Brown been played since the Stafford days. I agree with you though you can't really compare the two records, both good 45's in their own right.
  17. just tuned in for an hour Dave, will sky+ the rest I can't listen to
  18. So many from all era, oldies two of my all time favourites... Invitations - Whats Wrong With Me Baby & Fidels - Try A Little Harder oh & The Javells Later on Mello Souls, Diane Lewis, Parliaments (Rainy Day), Tommy & Derby's etc etc etc.........
  19. I've been converted to the Javells Nev
  20. Butch from Stoke, Keb is Scottish, dunno what that has to do with being southerners? What does the venues you frequented have to do with collecting and deejaying?
  21. Matt Brown - Sweet Thing/Thank You Baby? Milton Parker good record but Matt Brown p*sses all over it
  22. Chalky replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Maybe some thought this was going to be the next FW in terms of value, I didn't expect it to go anywhere near that, I did think it would have made £4k though. Think the thing with FW is on Soul it is the original and only way to get it on US. The UK release was done purely to satisfy demand on the back of the plays the US original got at Wigan. JLTW had already had a US release and as said this one on Bunky, done from the same plates just a different label looks to have been done for the Non US market? regardless someone is happy bunny right now, I would be with it in my collection. And where is Sue with his interesting story?
  23. Shake Sheri? Yes Andy Dyson and Butch have a copy, told Ian Wright also has one, dunno of any others. You can have a listen at https://www.soulunderground.co.uk/blog/ Andy Dyson selection
