  2. Highland release Champagne Shing A Ling and Sweet Sweet Love please and also the Teri De release if anyone can oblige, decent quality please not the ones on popsike.
  3. I think that just covered the venue names Byrney, might be wrong. Once get Stuarts time line, we can add to it etc decide on the final time line and set the topics up and gather the ramblings of the reprobates involved at the time I was going to do a DJ/promoter/provider of records of the week along with label and artist so can tie that in with the 80's DJ's, get the stories and records they played. Anyone who then wishes to have a go at the book will have a handy reference guide.
  4. there is the option of going on somebody's profile page and leaving a comment/feedback.
  5. Nice one Stuart. We can utilise your timeline with others. Plenty on here that look interested in the project and could and can contribute. Dave T is on here for the Stafford era, Alan and Steve Walls and others can cover the Scottish influence, the rest everything in-between and whats already mentioned.
  6. I know you said you specifically want card board Chris but on a similar line if simply for storage Really Use Full boxes do one for records..I've have some and they are great, do not get damaged like cardboard and offer better protection to the vinyl inside. https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b09_0litreXL.php you get more than 100 in as well. there is a 200 box but no divider which is a shame.... https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b18_0litreXL.php
  7. there's deffo a wordpress plugin. Pete with IWeb, when you look at it, down the right there is access for your files on your PC, itunes is there, find your mp3 file and simply drag it across to the web page you are doing. Use the blank page, your young un could do it it is that easy. I did reduce the size of the files due to previous site taking too long to load, I will put up bigger files this weekend.
  8. Start with the blank page of podcast template, find your podcast in iTunes and simply drag across, plenty of tutorials on web. It really is easy.
  9. Pete have a look at my site www.soulunderground.co.uk. Made pretty quickly with iWeb. If you have web space you can upload via iWeb FTP.
  10. Just host £60 a year and unlimited everything. You have a Mac Pete? iWeb piece of p*$s.
  11. isn't one of those selling the copies something to do with the Out A Site publishers? Has the other got his copies to actually sell yet? Does it really matter if you get a copy a couple of days later than you thought?
  12. Stuart, what was the timeline etc you came up with? Maybe I can start some topics on each and the info and memories can be gathered in the topics. Then if someone wishes to take on the project there should be plenty to go at? Me, I have trouble remembering breakfast at times

  14. Have you complained to the publisher/distributor?

It's getting a joke with the amount of week-enders, over kill gone mad. We have Cleethorpes, Prestatyn twice, Whitby, Brid, Scarborough, Blackpool Tower, Weston Super Mare, Newquay, seen an advert for one in Berwick and sure another in Manchester (?), Soul Essence. Then you have the European ones Bamburg, Hitsville, Rimini and others. Something has to give, either some weekender's or all-nighters are going to suffer.
  16. The number of door staff required will be set by the council and can be found on a venues public entertainment license, simply ask the venue management. It is not always the capacity that stipulates how many door staff/security are required, you might have to have a set number just on the door of any venue or club plus extra for the capacity.Any bouncers should have a ticket/license as well, not just any hard looking Tom Dick or Harry.

pretty sure you could at one time get some software to block snipes although why anyone would want to block one and deprive themselves of extra money is beyond me. Might be better off in PC, software section as it is basically a technical topic???
  18. It is nothing to do with scene politics, why do people always bring out that chestnut to back up their arguments?
  19. I don't know how rare it is, I based my comments on what the first post said and that those who had seen it haven't said it is common as muck. I don't know why it's covered, maybe it is rare. I still say the only reason it is being talked about is because it is allegedly rare and covered up, if it was a tenner disco record it wouldn't get a mention no matter how good it is.

oops, Dave posted as I was writing

doesn't the Canterbury on the real one curve round the top of the label not straight across?
  22. I disagree and think some miss the point of "if it was cheap...." If this record was a tenner it wouldn't get its own topic on Soul Source, I doubt it would ever get a mention by anyone let alone spins at a venue. We wouldn't be discussing it now. The only reason we are discussing it is because it is rare and covered up, not because it is good or bad. Its value was/is a factor. Like you say horses for course, I'm in the same camp as Sean, poor disco with little or no soul content and there are better ten quid records out there ignored simply because this is rare. Too much snobbery when it comes to prices on this scene.
  23. I did wonder myself why ball the detail, me I would have just said can't go working As it happens I am going, might be interesting, might be a total waste of time but if nothing else I might be able to offer an opinion or two in the Q&A at then end.
