  1. mate gave me copys of the essential collection cds on tapes, that's when I started to buy cds.more to hear tunes I didn't know. I must have about 100+ goldmine/kent cds.all, the first releases. was mostly goldmine I started with.they were pumping out great cds, which seemed like monthly @ the time. then they seemed to dry up. any new ones that did come out, most of the tunes were on there other cds.but there was always one tune that wasn't & it was always a top tune you didn't have on cd,lol.crafty but I didn't give in. was a local record shop who had piles of goldmines modern series cds(modern 1,2,3,4 etc) on sale for £1.99 each.wish id bought them all now, lol.
  2. always wondered, did someone turn up a box of demos of this in the last 10 years or something ?. was mostly issues going about, then all of a sudden mint demos were everywhere.
  3. think it was £300 pete.i was looking for a copy & missed yours.
  4. curley moore / you don't mean / sansu I haven't seen an issue,is there one?.
  5. white is deffo the boot. guy had what I thought was white boot on ebay,so emailed to tell him but said it was beige original, just the photo he put up looked white.so if see listed & dosnt look right, ask for info 1st to make sure.think also has to have virtue in run out. I had one in my mates collection I bought & never knew till later it wasnt original. what a record though.had 3 copies & sold 2.soon as I let people hear it they couldn't get there wallets out quick enough to buy it. copy went for over £270 on bradys auction.5 times more than what I thought price was, lol. heres scan

  7. demo is the same.
  8. just listend to the demo loud with headphones on & it is the same but sound's more like mother mucker, lol. when got the record i let my mates listen to see what they thought.they thought it did at first, but werent sure after a few more listens. see what other people think when they listen to clip.
  9. i have a demo & thot it said that, but after playing it a few times i dont think it does, very close tho, lol.
  10. my mate tubbs on here.was a regular @ a boot 15 miles north of aberdeen.a little village called inverurie(farmers, sheep etc, lol). once he got a pile of united artists uk demos think 75p each & there was a ray pollard / its a sad thing. next time he went,he was just about to leave & heard someone say how much for the little record player.turned round & it was a sound burger.got it for £3. last year he got an lp on a rare rock label, cant remember the name.couple of quid & sold to a record collector/dealer in aberdeen for £1000.he found out that there were more from the label in the other pile on the table, but 1 of the other 2 vultures that do what he does got in first. also the same vulture found elvis's rarest uk lp but wasnt sure if was a reissue.when he described to my mate,he knew it was the real deal.didnt say anything hoping to go get it,but guy said he bought it just incase as wasnt 100% sure, lol.
  11. im just saying ifs & buts here boba. was only saying that if they had played it & found it didnt play. they cant be totaly honest as they dont know if it will play or not.ive had some records in my time that look trashed, but played ok.to say prob wont play is the buyers risk & says sold as found. says not an expert.dosnt take an expert to find a deck, put needle on record & listen(unless he deaf, lol). as they say, rare record. if i was selling it,i would try to see how it played first.would benifit seller & buyer.more bids if did play through & more money for them.
  12. so many sellers say not play graded. is there no record players in the states these days, lol. if they didnt play it,for all they know it could play ex & would get a better price(but more chance ex standing for ex playable record, lol). so i bet was played but trashed.say nothing, they get some money & they covered there backs by saying doubt will play through. funny where this 45 turns up.werent 3 copies found inside a drawer of a cabinet, bought by a furniture dealer in the states or was that magnetics feat lee mckinney / ill keep holding on.if wrong i was close with the magnetics, lol.
  13. lol,"COUNT THE DAYS" it will take for winner to spend, trying to clean it up to,ok for djing condition.
  14. great tune i heard on a tape early 90's. only managed to get a copy 2 years ago. dosnt turn up often.
  15. i remember in the early 90's there was a lot of broken records getting sent broken just so they could claim. happened to my mate twice. one was tony middelton / to the ends of the earth.hed been after it for years & found one for £150(was still a lot of money for a 45 then). was well pissed when opened it & it was broken.showed me the package & it was sturdy & not a bend or crease aywhere.so thinks it was sent broken. got his money back & got to keep the record as guy made claim on it. i have it now & plays great, lol.
  16. has anybody had any trouble claiming comp from special delivery. twice i bought dear records from tim brown & was shocked as looked like they had just been posted it in jiffy bags.but they were in mailers inside then a jiffy bag. was told that was the only way youd get comp,if posted like this. tim browm must of had trouble with comp & was told to use mailers & stiffners for sturdyness, jiffy bag for the bubble wrap protection.or no comp.
  17. nightmare pete. same kinda thing happened here, but it was caused by the royal mails no1 enemy, lol. was round my mates yesterday & he showed me the record hed been wating 3 weeks from the states for. a third of the record had been snapped off.showed me the packaging & couldnt see anything wrong with it. he pointed out 2 pierced holes.it was one of his 2 german sheppards got its teeth into it before he did.wasnt a dear record but it was his big want of the moment. just a pity i didnt have a copy to give to him. was just saying to lady @ post office today ive only had 1 broken record in 25years.not 1 has been lost or not delivered
  18. i sold my 1st copy 5 years ago for £50 to a mate(he told me later he cant find it & cant remember what he done with it.think he thinks i took it back???,lol). when i sold/traded my other 15 anniv 45,s(can you belive i traded 9 of them to manship for jimmy helms/romeo & juliet/ pye, wanted it so bad then).then not long after they went indemand & prices started to rise.typical. cant complain, pete widdison sent me a copy after every anniv(before i had paid for it,lol) £4 @ start, then £6,then £8. was sombody in wants last month willing to pay £100 for a copy of carla & then posted again saying harder than he thought to get.dont know if he got a copy?. have them all again when bought mates record collection.only trouble now is have to pay £40/£50 to keep up to date. remember rob the stick had a few of the early ones for sale £7-£9 @ one of the cleethorpes.thought was worth picking them up for the futre to sell on.tried to haggle the prices down but he/she wasnt having it,so just left them.wish i paid the price now, lol. only now after playing them all again,do i now realise how good these tunes are & most are worth every penny or should i say pound now.

last year i got 2 emails of ebay saying....quotations / i dont have to worry just been listed on us ebay. both were from same guy & listed in rock section. so emailed & asked price to buy it now.he got back to me saying he had just removed them from ebay, thot someone beat me to it. what happened was he had 4 copies,2 were good & 2 were bad,but had chucked the good copies out by mistake & thats why removed from ebay, lol. so asked what condition the bad ones were.he said i dont have to worry plays ok on one disc but not on the other.said sounded like they had dust in grooves. thot id take a risk cause ive had a couple of copies before & they both had slight background noise(just the pressing i think). so asked how much for both, came back & said $5 for them both,ok ill take them, lol. got them week later & both played great. 1 vg++ 1 ex. just a pity about other 2 copies, they must of been mint.
