  1. $161, there was another one last year for $153, both pretty cheap considering how rare this one is

In case you didn't see this guy looking for one Kev, great record with truly heavy heavy production, title gets it right
  3. One went cheap a couple of weeks ago Matt
  4. You might also want to check out the version of NTYMUYM by Sandy Edmonds on the flip of her demolishing (in a good way!) "Come see me" on Aussie Zodiac, like it just as much as Val's (although Val wrote it so she gets a bonus star for that!) https://www.popsike.com/RARE-GREAT-NZ-BEAT-SANDY-EDMONDS-COME-SEE-ME-/360088549506.html
  5. If you want a Lulu ballad then "Dreary days and nights" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7vXKzwYlD4 (although didn't quite expect to hear it being used as the backing music for a graphic HBO documentary about prostitiutes working outdoors at Hunts Point here in the Bronx)
  6. Favourite beat ballad on vinyl: Irv Peddrew "Take it from me girl" - there's a short clip on youtube but not enough to get the whole build-up, really beautiful record, this still seems a pretty slept-on 45, HB Barnum at the desk doing his magic Best on stage: Roscoe Robinson doing "I who have nothing" - forget any association with this song by Tom Jones or the like, this is an 84 year old man singing his heart out about missed chances and longing, dropping to his knees and pleading, tears to the eyes guaranteed
  7. Grab it baby grab it, absolute belter

    The uptempo side is killllllllller
  9. Going to see Roscoe sing this weekend Greg, who knows if he'll include this, he's doing an r'n'b show then a gospel one too so it's possible!!
  10. Jet is rarer, has what I think is a better version on the flip, don't see it much even here in NYC

Great price for a truly killer 45, always laugh how they spelled his name wrong on the label tho'
  12. Or come hear him sing it live at Dig Deeper this weekend! Great record, hope finds a good home.

I sold mine privately earlier this year, as think may have posted previously, when was chatting to Martin Koppel in Toronto a couple of years ago - a man who definitely knows more than most about Canadian soul releases - he'd never had one in all his time there so have to believe it's genuinely rare whatever the price gets put on it.
  14. I'm too old to be on Facebook you're just young for your years!
  15. I've had 2 copies with the picture sleeve, even rarer!
  16. One on today's list here Neal https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/

Hi Johnny, I picked up a white demo a few years ago along with a dozen or so issue copies, agree way rarer
  18. S'ok Alex, I have an issue copy/pic sleeve, just didn't actually know this promo version existed, agree very tough to find record, good luck with your sale!!
  19. Have both, Chuck Cornish gets the dancefloor going but the Senator Jones is in a completely different league, read a review once where the writer wrote "this record makes me throw chairs across the room", great description.
  20. Killer record, but are you saying this version is only 90 seconds long Alex?? Does it have the great picture sleeve?
  21. I'm not into his version of MBLTB but do rate his 4 track Swedish ep, has some killer r'n'b movers, favourite is Please Grow Up but all are worth a listen, on a weird little label that would send out 45's for free if to you collected coupons from ice cream packets, don't know how many different releases there were like this (Seb?) but have another that has a truly top shelf psych garage track by the Fleurs, how this got sent out to Scandinavian kiddies is beyond me
  22. Come to Dig Deeper in NYC on October 13th and see him do it live on stage!!
  23. Bump Shop doesn't score on originality, a night with that name ran for years at APT in New York, do totally agree it's hard to come up with a name that's not been used before or doesn't use some cliched "a-go-go" type term
  24. Sold a clean one last year, always a toughie even here near where it came from!
  25. "Notorious record shark Glen Bivens" - haha long time since I'd seen Glen's name in print Ian, yes that about sums it up bless him
