Can anyone tell me what the last Motown record released in Detroit was please?

Me, I love my vinyl, and have been an avid collector from day one.......but I'm b---oxed if I'm gonna tell any of you lot about it, you jealous b-----ds you

As with a lot of "sourcers" Motown was my first real musical love, and many of the tunes are timeless in my opinion, more's the pity that due to the enormous output from Hitsville, that a certain percentage never saw the light of day releasewise but alas I suppose I'm grateful for the chance to hear unreleased stuff albeit somewhat dripfed of late ........

Agree with Sepias valuation of Emanuel Laskey, As I got one for £200 last year, but only paid £40 for the 4th day version so the ebay price is surprising...

Totally agree, love the guys repertoire, surely there must be someone who could persuade him to come across and take the belated but well deserved plaudits....

Pete for my "15 minutes of fame" (so to speak as a perspective "record dealer") I actually found 7 copies of Reparata and the Delrons- Panic on UK Bell (if my memory serves me right) in the back of a toy shop called Hurleys in Pontypridd,back in the 70's amongst other things......looking back I wish I'd bought the toys....

Sad indeed, would have loved to have had an opportunity to witness a Deon Jackson performance, but there seems little chance of that happening by the seem of it

Must concur,along with H-D-H, and Wylie/Hestor,Pied Piper.....but there again I'm talking personal from a collecting perspective....... for starters .

If the lady displaying the discs comes as part of the deal, I'd say that is an absolute giveaway

Great record, got one about 6 months ago through this site actually, but paid a bit more than Harry tho', the Hesitations mentioned is also a a good take on the backing, with a superb flip too

As I am only one Golden World title short of a complete run, could anyone enlighten me to what in fact Dickie & the Ebb tides-One boy one girl- Golden World#45 is actually like, as I can't honestly say I've ever heard it, and what would a copy cost? (I fear the worse as to how it sounds but hope I'm wrong) Thanx in advance wilxy

With the amount of titles made available via the massive Motown catalogue, many artists/artistes from outside of the Hitsville USA fold covered a variety of material such as Sandy Wynns-Touch of Venus (Marvin Gaye), and Alice Clarke-You hit me (right where it hurts me)-(Kim Weston), and whilst some were better than the original such as the Sandy Wynns (IMHO) it's debatable which out of the latter (Clarke/Weston) you'd prefer? Those two examples just scrape the surface of the numerous items given the treatment outside of the motor city,and whilst "several" would gain the "reverance " of the Nortern Soul fraternity, commercially the bulk of covers would gain release status only as its limited prize......

Talking about Al Gardner, how much is the Sepia release going for, and similarly how much for the French Googa-Mooga issue.....and are there any about for sale???
