  2. Ady Chris is correct. If he is not able to find the lp, I only have the 45 to hand. Really don't know where the lp is at the moment. But of coarse the album would be more beneficial. Get back if you get stuck .Not sure if the whole lp got a uk release, may of came out in conjunction with something else. Three or four tracks on different artists? Andy
  3. You got it Ivor, thats the fellow. Andy
  4. Was it mike ward who sold a few p.vine and japanese things, I remember a guy down in colchester or that neck of the woods who also had that stuff. . Mike had some good 45s also. Like that morris 45 'cant we melt the ice', which never turned up in any quantity. Andy

  7. Actually remember buying this at clifton hall along with larry houston ' lets spend some time together' which had only just been uncovered from what ever it was and was a big record then. To cut a long story short i lost my little blue ticket to the cloke rooms on the floor, some f***** found it stole my bag and the records. Found both titles a few months later, but not great when you only got £42 pound a week as an apprentice! Andy

  9. Exactly. If you walk round diy stores for long enough there are numerous covers of circular black music blasting out, and that is how they get round it.
  10. Ralph Weeks, seriously soulfull piece. Great shout russ.
  11. Thanks for that Dave, as some sellers have told me they can't get round it!. I now have sum amunition. Andy
  12. You could well be right sir, but given the fact the casino did not close till december 81 and many a pop thing were around as demos or smaller runs before it actually charted i could be right, or maybe i heard him play it somewhere else, as another poster pointed out who also heard him play it. Either way it's crap and should stay in the wayne gibson box.
  13. Few records can transport a soul fan to complete musical entrapment like this one. Probably why so many other great soul singers had a go at it, they felt the same way. Superb.
  14. My copy has the 'honey' productions logo in the top left corner, and i seem to remember seeing a demo along with that logo with the two titles. But only 70% sure. Hope it is of some help John. Andy
  15. Very sorry, must be on the wrong site, thought it was called soulsource. Could go on all night about dance music with an influence. I remember dave evison playing' heatache avenue' by whoever it was at wigan. awefull. Just dont think this site is the correct place for music like that.
  16. Sounds like a cross between bananarama and 'chain reaction' Diana ross. Precious little to do with soul music imo.
  17. Hello Kev Popped to my friends last night and completed your cd. My address is - Hollygrove Barn lane Runham Gt Yarmouth NR29 3EF Regards Andy
  18. Yep, brilliant shout. One of John andersons front page delights during the indie come back period of the early eighties. Love the mood on that one. Think that one was a fiver, when most others on the page were three fifty. They were the days! Andy
  19. Great record Greg!. super vocal and probably recorded between 80 and 84. The strange thing is there actually used to be more gospel or should we say inspirational tracks played on the scene than there is now. I am sure many will remember the Marcus 45 ' love they don't know you' ,very similar in tempo to this and from the same period .One thing for sure in most cases a gospel vocal will be superior. Imo this has absolutely nothing to do with crossover.Check out the Donnie scales 45 from detriot from around this period, now that is a voice! Andy
  20. The copies I have are not in great shape. Can anybody help with an upgrade? Cheers Andy
  21. His influence in the evolution of underground club culture was massive, which in turn paved the way for the appreciation of black American dance music like we have in 2014. Get well soon. Andy
  22. Don't get out any more , so I have little knowledge of what gets played out at northern venues these days. Here is two that gary rushbrook played Chryslers 'not gonna loose you' and the creations 'just remember me' probably one of the most soulfull midtempo's I had the pleasure of hearing there.
  23. HAVING BOTH VERSIONS I TEND TO THINK ITS A MOOD THING . I THINK HAYWOODS VOCAL ON THE CAPITOL RELEASE IS SUPERIOR. HOWEVER THE 20TH CENTURY RELEASE IS A MUSIC MASTERCLASS. ACCEPT THEM FOR THE RECORDING PERIOD THEY ARE FROM. THAT IS HOW I LIKE TO VIEW IT. ANDY
  24. HAVE A SECOND COPY OF THIS, UNFORTUNATLY IT IS CRACKED HALFWAY INTO THE PLAYING SURFACE.PLAYS THROUGH OK ON MY DECK. GREAT CHOICE AND A VERY SOULFULL RECORD. 1O SQUID IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE ON IT. JUST POST IT BACK IF IT DOES NOT WORK OUT. ANDY
