  1. Watched it this morning, thanks to whoever posted it on Youtube or whatever it's called. Always feel appalled that they cover the same ground mostly that has been done before, and never improve on what has been shown or is readily viewable if you care to search in these easily accessible search engine days, not a mention of the 80's discoveries and the crossover scene, the current big name DJ's, not the fossils. I'd be more interested in seeing something about the Stafford days and the plethora of stunning tracks that got to be heard there, still, if Ian D is right, it may well be on the cards, and I'll get to see it before I draw my pension.
  2. I saw that, should be bottle green
  3. They're down near Gibraltar Steve, I'll make do with Crested Larks and Hoopoe
  4. Someone stick it on Youtube as I won't be able to see it in Spain
  5. I'm amazed that hasn't happened to me as I called them all "Robbing C**ts" when they charged me £8 handling fee on top of customs charges. They don't seem to have the same respect for their job that they used to, and it's not as if they work hard, they seem to drive everywhere now.
  6. I shared a drink or three with Kubrick a few weeks before he died and he said he wished he hadn't made the film
  7. Now 178 in Music and #3 in Music>R&B and soul>soul, I probably won't buy them as I have about 70% in my record box
  8. Missed Stafford, but love the stuff that came to light there, was in Japan, USA, Australia and New Zealand, so I can't complain really, and bought some vinyl wherever I was. Thanks Chalky, I can put names to tunes that I've more recently come to love.
  9. Cosmos might let you go into the basement if you ask nicely, though they check all prices on-line before they sell, so not always cheap, Kops are all priced, and if Martin's son Alex is working in the shop it's fun as he loves to hear about the Northern scene. Try the thrift stores, I've pulled stuff out of them, but it's being there at the right time as there are plenty looking to make a dollar. Scarborough is a Toronto suburb and easy enough to get to on public transport so Henry's warehouse is worth a visit.
  10. I was outbid on a Sonny Daye, whilst watching 2 of them, got the second for an opening bid of $4.99 the next day, it pays to watch
  11. How did anyone miss it? Did he end early?
  12. Sounds like a Simpson's style "Whacking Day" is needed!
  13. It's still not a stork though Steve!
  14. Still doesn't ring true to me, too many implausibles. Proof is obviously not going to be found, so it's the moneyed gullible that will buy.
  15. I know what you mean, but I also get too much sun.
  16. too much sun Martyn? For you both?
  17. I suppose so when you consider the amount of plant names I can pull out of the air, Manypeoplia upsidedownia, is one of my favourites
  18. I was told it was a broad bodied chaser, but couldn't remember when I posted, I do like dragonflies it's just that I don't know one from the other
  19. This is the one and only time a dragonfly has obliged, it was sat on a field maple hedge at Sanssouci, Potsdam near Berlin
  20. Thanks John, enjoy the Lakes Dave
  21. Mine isn't tippexed either
  22. the last of my Monkey faced orchids
  23. I thought that Martyn, but if it was, it was a very big Venus, titter ye not
  24. I don't think so Steve, though it could be a possibility, I beat up my science teacher at school so didn't do so well in science. It was much smaller and higher in the sky, I think maybe a planet that was fairly close, that or reading too many Asimov novels and hallucinations as I'm apt to having. Dave
  25. They are all known as Monkey faced orchids, and are amazingly close to looking like a monkey's face, imagine the alternative! Or not!!
