  1. It's not a "News article" ... it's nothing more than an advert/plug by the label owner. At the very least it should have been moved to "Freebasing" ... as it has SFA to do with "Soul" to anyone with a working set of ears ... as every other response to the post shows ... ! I guess that the mere mention of the word Moderator is an offence these days ?
  2. Where have all the Admin/Moderators gone ... ? Why does shite like this even get airtime on a so-called "Soul" forum . pretty much the final nail in the coffin for me I'm afraid along with the whole Prom thing , little wonder the site is dying on it's feet with folk leaving for alternative pastures ...

Alan was playing the Antellects in the mid 90s.
  4. Still is.
  5. Just finished a riveting three hours watching "Oppenheimer" , highly recommended.
  6. If it's listed as NM and arrived as NM then it should look like a new 45 surely ...

Would take two seconds , hardly any trouble , less hassle than having to keep guessing A from B everytime it's played ...

It's simply a mislabelled record that some owner has coloured in to distinguish one side from the other , you can clearly see they've applied a red felt tip to the disc whilst it's been on a spinning deck ....
  9. Just finished the final series of the great show "Billions" ... it's been a brilliant watch.
  10. It's not the fact that it's a shite pop tune that's the issue , it's the fact that the robbing bastard is trying to sell a thirty quid record to some unsuspecting sap for £850 that sticks in my craw ... !
  11. Or better choice ... ?
  12. Last two on PS made £30.00 , and that's a tenner too much ...

  14. The BBC four part mini-series "The Reckoning" about Jimmy Saville is a "must see". Not easy viewing by any means but very well put together and a fantastic performance by Steve Coogan in what must have been an extremely difficult role to play.
  15. I used to love the t-shirts Shifty used to make featuring the latest big records he'd acquired. We used to pop down to Staples in Cambridge with the tunes and get them scanned and printed out on special clear film that you could just "iron-on" to whichever article of clothing you chose.
  16. Just binged on "The Long Shadow" about the Yorkshire Ripper , very well done by a great cast and the entire contents of ITV's wig collection.
  17. It's the same photo on here and Discogs so I'm surmising the the OP has made the listing over there.
  18. Most of the YT clips available are of the low pitch version , just one with the other vocal.
  19. First one sounds like it's had the Pinky and Perky treatment , the vocal's definitely been messed with to these ears.
  20. Click on the 'cog' top-right of the post .
  21. At last they've learnt that NS didn't cease to be when the Casino closed ...
  22. Hard not to form an opinion having read the endless drivel posted here on SS about the subject ...
  23. I imagine it must have been like sitting on your sofas getting all excited by faded beer-blunted memories of a gig they attended forty years ago , by watching a cheap DVD of a lame modern 'tribute' act having a go at covering songs by a band they are too young to have ever seen live themselves. In other words excrutiatingly sad ... needless to say I neither listened to or watched either debacle.
  24. Could be the basis for a good door policy first question ... "Did you watch and enjoy the Prom ?" If answer be "Yes" then it's a resounding "best you bugger off somewhere else then" ...
