  1. Thanks Dave , And now I have "that" scene from 'Spartacus' in my mind but with the chorus of "I've got Eddie Parker ... " resounding repeatedly ...
  2. But with prints they are generally a known number of copies and numbered as such are they not ? ( i.e 1/500 or similar , discounting the many fakes and repros of course.) Even my copy of Mr Manship's latest guide is numbered 995/1000. Life would be a bit easier if record companies had used a similar system on the labels ... lol
  3. Three FW's including the test pressing , but no doubt someone knows someone whose Aunty had a postman who knew the janitor in the company that supplied the firm that made the boxes that Berry used to pack 45's in ... etc , etc , etc .... As to the rest it's muddy waters as there's the balance (or not) between 'rarity' and 'demand' ... plenty of "not rare" records make more than "rare" ones purely because of renewed popularity but they're not available because the copies are locked away in 'collections' and they seldom appear for sale .... but just because there are no copies for sale does not mean that there were not thousands pressed and distributed and surviving. It's a subject that's been covered umpteen times before on here so I'll shut up now and let you search the previous discussions/arguements/battles ... have fun now ...
  4. But he was presumably playing a 'new' acetate he'd acquired/had cut ... ? ( alongside numerous others he had around then , I seem to recall him playing a bunch of them at a Ritz nighter around the time) I meant to say "first available" to us lowly punters who had to make do with the CD ...
  5. First available on the 4-CD box set in '94 , remember it well as it was the first CD I bought in order to get the unreleased stuff. Most expensive CD I've ever bought as I had to go and get something to play it on too ...
  6. To remove without leaving any evidence of the label is 100% impossible , not almost so. But a "slowly , slowly , catchee monkey" approach with Zippo fluid and a new scalpel blade (#10 or #23 preferably ... convex blade) in a steady hand will remove them . But if you are not particularly dexterous , or it's the Sunday after a nighter then I'd advise leave well alone ...
  7. For labels with water-based adhesives ...
  8. Lighter fluid ... carefully and patiently ... apply with a Q-Tip and wait until it starts to ease at the corners then more fluid ... and repeat as required.
  9. Pretty sure it is Karl , not a clean stamp though looks like it 'bounced' on impact and made two or three indistint overlapping impressions. Tried enhancing it but the image quality doesn't stand up to much enlargement.
  10. Barbara Lynn's version does it for me these days ...
  11. Firstly it's not on Tamla Motown and second there are 12 copies on Discogs starting at £5.46
  12. Morning Karl , sent you a PM ...
  13. Surely Robbie Williams cannot be to blame ...
  14. Thought it might be that way Rod , only takes two ...
  15. I have a gold "You succeeded" here , great voice ...
  16. I know Steve , yesterday's 'search' took me to Chris's site ... didn't mention it in case someone commented about the price etc , etc ...
  17. I thought it'd be a decimal point thing until I spotted that 38 knob'eads had bid on it ...
  18. No worries Karl , it's Friday and I'm sure you have better things to do ... see you in three weeks sir ...
  19. Bound to be others with different 'handwriting' as yours has pretty obviously been 'embellished' by a previous owner rather than a company hand . Run out details identical to the issue as the vendor stated therefore 100% kosher ...
  20. Looks fine to these eyes , MR stamp clearly visible on the flip side , the "A" looks a little odd but my guess is that the label was 'updated' for the repress as what looks like a bigger mistake was leaving it off on the original run. The repress image on Discogs and elsewhere also show a slightly 'faded' "A" so I'd say that the label printers "overprinted" the "A" onto the labels rather than scrap the screen and redo the whole job.
  21. Is this a sub-thread related to "Room 101" by any chance ...
  22. Wakey , wakey ... already a thread running on this subject ...
