  1. I'm sure Pete Smith had a copy of this for sale fairly recently.
  2. I wonder if this tape was the same one we all had? If so, it must have been so far ahead of it's time to have affected so many of us for so long. I wonder who the guys were that put it together? I'm gonna get back in touch with Nick Cowan. It's about time I did, it's been a very long time and therefore well overdue.
  3. Bloody hell Len, I must have had the same cassette tape 'cos I too listened to it, and the others, for years, without knowing what most of them were. Then, slowly, one by one, I got to know what some of them were and subsequently bought them. This one I didn't know the artist or title until now, so off I go to buy one, providing that is, it's not a stupidly expensive record? I'm pretty sure the cassette tape came from an old pal Nick Cowan, who in turn had it recorded for him by a couple of guys from the Wirral I think, who were really into this kinda stuff years before anybody else. Well certainly within the circle of friends I knew at the time. One of the others on the cassette tape was 'Whatever's Fair' by Billy Butler & Infinity. Was that too, by any chance, on the tape you had? Bugger, just checked and that Jeanie Tracy record is a $1000 record. Typical!!!
  4. In terms of Donnie Elbert's discography, what information is there about his recording of 'Come See About Me'? I mean, was it released as a 45, or perhaps as an Lp or Ep track. What CD or CDs does it appear on? Etc. All information / comments welcome.
  5. Have you been using it a lot recently? If so, just lay off it for a day or two and it should be free again. I think it has something to do with heavy usage. Perhaps if you use it for more than a certain number of searches, it recognises this fact and suggests you get unlimited usage for a fee. Failing that, try using Collectors Frenzy instead.
  6. The plot thickens?
  7. Yes, my one and only red and white Volt demo is the Mad Lads but can't remember which one? Unless Tone can show us otherwise, perhaps it's the only one after all? Let me know Ste if we DO have a date fixed for our next drinkie poos.
  8. Any chance of a label scan of one of these red and white demos, if only for my fading memory but it may also benefit others.
  9. Still after a copy of this. Can nobody help me with a copy? If you can, please 'Message' me with condition and price. Thanks.
  10. Is that red on white background or white on red background? I can't remember now which way round mine is? As for when we're meeting up again. Errr, can't remember now? I don't think we fixed a date?
  11. If Sebastian is reading this, or if anybody else would like to oblige, can you tell me if red and white Demos on the early Volt label design are unusual or common? Red and black Demos yes, but what about red and white ones?
  12. On a more mundane point of interest, if Sebastian is reading this, or if anybody else would like to oblige, can you tell me if red and white Demos on the early Volt label design are unusual or common? Red and black Demos yes, but what about red and white ones?
  13. Gotta be careful with limited funds old bean. ;-))
  14. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................................................NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Paul Delaney. Now there's a name I haven't heard for many years. Is he still with us? Is he on here on Soul Source?
  16. Well done Patrick Costigan, wherever you are. This film is not only a well deserved tribute to Neil English but it's also a credit to you and your efforts to bring this club and it's benefactor to the attention of the World. I miss seeing you around. I hope you are happy and well. Dennis.

  18. Thanks everybody, most enlightening.
  19. Which is odd, as you'd think it would be the other way round. I guess it depends on how many were sold before it was "withdrawn", which I'll admit, I didn't know about. Why was it withdrawn? When you say "version", is this reissue a slightly different version to the original release?
  20. Bummer, as it means I'm unlikely to get a scan of the label for my friend now. Unless of course, by chance, the person I sold it to is reading this post / thread.
  21. Ha Ha Ha, I'm not saying you don't, I was just re-emphasising the point with trickbag.
  22. Like I told Pete Smith, it did get released cos I sold a copy from my personal collection back in 1986. It may have been scheduled for release but then they changed their minds perhaps but I'm telling you, some, if only the one I had, slipped out without being noticed. I might even be able to tell you who I sold it to, when, and for how much, as I kept paperwork on all my sales back then.
  23. Yes it did, I sold a copy from my personal collection about 1986.
