Agree absolutely, top 100 motown is slightly abstract because i would imagine the majority on this site would be inclined to pick records from a golden period of about 7 years.

Career ending allegations these days for both men, also apparently marvin gaye was none too impressed with bg putting money before her failing health. The truth is buried in a score of rumours probably.

As regards "new stuff" a record that hasn't been heard by the majority of the crowd isn't going to fill the floor until listened to. So basically an empty floor, it needs a dj who is prepared to persevere to get the floor filled. Even the most well known oldies had to go through a rite of passage to fill the floor. Djs have to be braver and have the courage to stick with something they think will work.

Happy with 2 room events. More choice whats not to like. The main room tends to be oldies and a second playing "modern " etc keeps most happy. At the oddfellows reunions it spread the crowd out if nothing else.

Although a lover of oldies, i fully enjoy modern and have been to rare soul events and haven't heard a single record before and throughly enjoyed the experience, we are a broad church and room for all tastes.

Nobody has been able to spend much the last year, virtually no pub holidays etc, collectables inc vinyl records are bound to at least hold their price and more at the moment, more spare cash will keep prices up at the moment for sure, long term who knows.

That is true but i firmly believe that most regular attendees at events be it nighters dayers or weekender, very quickly know if said event is for them. The age of technology gives you every chance to gage what the event has to offer. I do plenty of weekenders and know a newquay will be completely different playlist wise to somewhere like the tower at Blackpool. Both appeal to many including me but are chalk and cheese. Anyway role on freedom day.

Hope so. Attend what takes your fancy and ignore the others. Seriously dont understand the too many events argument, the good will survive the crap will wither and fade away. But anyway be happy to attend anything. 🤪🙏
