  1. Agree with everything other than the probably all going to catch it bit, transmission in the community is reckoned to be about 2000 a day give or take a few hundred, thats about 750000 if it continues another year which is highly unlikely, at that rate it would take 10 years for 7.5 million to get it and thats less than an 1/8 of the population.
  2. As a not bothered if its original or not record buyer, i get an extra enjoyment from going to a do and listening to an original. The scene ,vinyl and original copies are all essential linked and the non playing of vinyl would for me signal the beginning of the end.
  3. I think even in a so called friendly scene like ns , rare soul posters are going to vary greatly on how they respond on topics, the other forum i sometimes go on which is for my football clubs fans some threads decend into almost hatred and thats from people who support the same club, its human nature made worse by a certain invisibility.
  4. I understand that chalky, the crux of my reply was more concerning why people liking beer oldies or talc so offends anybody, the argument has raged on here long enough without going into it, plenty of variety for everyone without snide comments. For the record i never use talc and like a mix of classics and new tunes so I'm only half heathen. 😉
  5. Never understood how the way some people live their life offends some who have different opinions. Tongue in cheek or not live your life and let others live theirs.
  6. Love some roy Hamilton songs, thats certainly not my favourite but you can certainly tell he was friends with elvis with that one.
  7. Charity brown and rain.😉
  8. Wow.
  9. Agree mike ive always been an optimist and with the summer coming a clever promoter is surely sizing up an outdoor venue.
  10. Without a second wave and as many scientists say that it wont happen as say it will, i would expect events in the autumn as long as the rules that are set at the time are met, large venues with adequate social distancing, dance floor well we naturally socially distance. When it's classed as safe to return i certainly will vaccine or not, I've been at work from the start working at safe distance from people why not socially.? In a democratic country if it's allowed its up to the individual, don't want to attend fair enough, happy to attend go for it.
  11. Absolutely, looking forward to newquay weekender in November. 👍
  12. I understand your views, but i totally watched the programme as it being a journey Anthony was starting on, he will decide what rocks his boat, the scene has been debated to death on here and its apples and pears, some love the oldies some want new stuff constantly, it gave a lad whose had a shit life joy and thats enough for me, forums are about opinions and long may that continue.
  13. Yes watched it. Heartwarming, hope the lad continues to find some joy in the ns scene and his life.
  14. What a record. 👍
  15. Always intrested seeing the views of people on this forum, the vast knowledge of some is fantastic, regards the dancing question, dance to the record only yourself feels it , my love of Motown opened a door into the world of northern soul and i love them both.
  16. Probably my all time favourite male singer, loved his duets with tami and kim as well. Tragic way for anybody to die.
  17. Torquay in may.
  18. I don't know where people get the idea that ns events are full of pissed up people looking for fights! I attend events the length of the country from Newquay to whitby never see trouble ever.!
  19. Yes been to many dos with her djing and dancing, full of energy and great mover
  20. The irony being haven't heard either at a soul night for years.
  21. Excellent dj and the sort of young blood the scene needs.
  22. Never understand why people do this, for me when I'm on the floor I'm lost in the record and not worried about looking like a fecking show pony. Just ummm dont .
  23. Merry xmas everyone. Seeing the new year in at the oddfellows. Happy soulful times.
  24. Personally think its a very good record that unfortunately has become taboo to play at ns events because of its main stream popularity which is a shame.
