The Fabulous Platters aka The Steinways
I read this a couple of years ago and assume you spotted it Ready Steady Gone! The Soul Deceiver - Ready Steady Gone! The Soul Deceiver describes how entertainment agent Roy Tempest hoodwinked music promoters in the sixties by supplying fake American Soul acts

Fantastic Puzzles - Come Back From Portugal
Been a while but just had a fantastic (please excuse the pun) chat with Samm Culley yesterday and he assures me The Puzzles, Four Puzzles and Fantastic Puzzles are the same group. Frank Gibbs, Leo Wright, Tommy Charles and Charles Dios were the boys and Samm was called in to lead on "My Sweet Baby" because of illness.

Bob & Fred - I'll be on my way
I read somewhere that Bob may have been Bobby St. Thomas, sometimes known as “Mr. Hello Detroit.” Sadly I can't find where I read it.

Jimmy Ellis vs. Jimmie Preacher Ellis
Jimmie sounds a little like Jimmie Robins "James Ray Robbins", but my ears are often wrong. Same folks E. Reason and C.Cable were involved with Big Ella Please Don't Hurt Me / Queen on Rush all with Chicago connections.

Anyone have any Info on who the Appointments were ?
Jimmy "Okera" Hightower might have been lead and Gene possibly took the recordings to New York and didn't release them as The Combinations.

The Detroit Sound Label?
Merlene also penned, with Lloyd, "Crystal", RJ's latest Arrival. I also read that someone had mentioned a lady called Virginia Gray being an original member of The Sequins ?

Question for existence of 2 singles (soul-jazz-funk)
John Greek had a group called The Puddin' Heads (1964). He really seemed to like group "desert" names it seems. The Chocolate Chips will be late 1969 or 1970.

Elsie Gray RIHP
With a broken heart I have to report the passing of Elsie Gray. We became friends 2 years ago and spent hours and hours talking about her career with The Debonaires. Elsie was so kind and even made me and sent me only last week a T shirt (which I will wear with pride). My world will not be the same and hope we meet in heaven "Baby Doll" 🙏" 😢" 🎵" 💔"

Collection selling
I only use Discogs as a database for that reason. My only worry is my password for the kids.

Collection selling
I chatted with you many moons ago and we were talking about the same subject "Only sell if you really need the money" you said "You only remember the ones you should not have sold" Live by that now

I got this from Elsie as well about Darrell Banks "The Songs We Did Are: Somebody Somewhere Needs You: Angel Baby: I’m Knocking At Your Door: I’ve Got That Feeling: Just Because Your Love Is Gone: Never Alone: My Love Is Reserved For You: No One Blinder: I’m Saving My Loving."
