  1. With a broken heart I have to report the passing of Elsie Gray. We became friends 2 years ago and spent hours and hours talking about her career with The Debonaires. Elsie was so kind and even made me and sent me only last week a T shirt (which I will wear with pride). My world will not be the same and hope we meet in heaven "Baby Doll" 🙏" 😢" 🎵" 💔"
  2. I only use Discogs as a database for that reason. My only worry is my password for the kids.
  3. I chatted with you many moons ago and we were talking about the same subject "Only sell if you really need the money" you said "You only remember the ones you should not have sold" Live by that now

  5. There was a great thread in 2009 https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/104319-hello-stranger-the-ollie-mclaughlin-covers/
  6. I got this from Elsie as well about Darrell Banks "The Songs We Did Are: Somebody Somewhere Needs You: Angel Baby: I’m Knocking At Your Door: I’ve Got That Feeling: Just Because Your Love Is Gone: Never Alone: My Love Is Reserved For You: No One Blinder: I’m Saving My Loving."
  7. Completely agree, two sides to 'most' coins. Would love to know how he managed to persuade the companies to press the dodgy ones and how he pulled the wool. It's no good to only praise and not question the bad things.
  8. I wonder is Monarch ever "knew" Soussan was "using" them for bootlegging
  9. I was trying to remeber were I heard this and count this as proper garage
  10. I agree, practised in garages and some made it into a studio and some didn't
  11. Do you think it was The Swampers, as it sounds like David Hood on bass to my ears
  12. Elise told me about Agent and how The Debonaires were on backing and I remember dancing to the instrumental version thinking "those ladies can harmonise" I was only a kid then and now all this info, just fantastic, thanks
  13. Fonior obtained an exclusive license for the distribution of products for Decca, so most likely a "proper" release
  14. I found this page about Tress, Edwin and The Futuretones https://doo-wop.blogg.org/main-tag/futuretones-1-c29032934
  15. It is just my association and you are spot on and this article probably sums it up https://timeline.carnegiehall.org/genres/soul
