  1. I picked these up from the guy that knew the label / studio owner.Between them they had 5 hundred 12,s issued and a box of 25 demos.I don,t honestly think the cd made it into production though. They came from DJ Records out of Carnegie near Pittsburgh airport.Over the years had loads of superb records out of him but boy is he hard work to deal with.Bye the bye he lost all his stock in the floods of three years ago and anything he turns up now goes to the Bay.Pure chance that i could be bothered to call in and see him because he really is a miserable git.He probably still has copies. 3. Tri city needs to come off the list if Saginaw is too far out,or the sister labels need adding.
  4. Right somebody has to make a decision on outside of detroit labels.Soulwise i would keep them in.I mean Mutt is there as is Tri City. On this basis. Better World Flip Hotline Music Journal Moonville Usa Ultra City Valerie Wood City

Brian Goucha played a track off this album Friday at Wilton allnighter.Went down very well as quality soul music from whatever year will always be accepted.I understand Marks comments but Raphael does have previous a sthe Double Toni Toni Toni set from a few years back was very retro wasn,t it. 7. To Paul Sadot - I agree with you one thousand per cent mate! I for one find a production company that seems to be getting so much so wrong in an historical context perplexing to say the least. In the past has there ever been a decent documentary done about the scene that has not had you looking at it through your fingers? I would say no and that includes Look Easts effort a couple of weeks ago.If the documentaries are cringeworthy what chance a film that is only using the Casino as a background to the main story anyway.I started on an underground scene and thats where i want to be come my demise.I did like the short film with Dennis Pennis as the DJ as that was funny and of course the stage play Once A Time In Wigan. So thats my twopenneth worth. Trev

Cliff Steele snapped his copy of Honeybees - Lets Get Back Together - Garrison after dropping his box all the way down a fire escape after a soul night. Two Records were actually broken but only one of them was his.The other of course was mine the great big wassock! However its amazing he got off so lightly as we just looked at the box and thought F**k or something very similar but longer.
  9. And they may have made totally brilliant records but Ric Tic had the Fantastic Four bastard liars as well. I bet they never got one room for $2 let alone another one, whether it had seen a broom or not! And i bet they did give up looking for their baby. Whats the world coming to when you can,t trust Soul Artists to sing to you truthfully?
  10. Pete you say tomaytoes and i say tomartoes. IMHO a piece of sophisticated crossover late 60,s motown soul! Trev
  11. A cracking piece of crossover off of a totally fantastic album.Been playing it off of a 45 for a couple of years now at any of my occasional dj spots.Should be reasonably priced too. Trev
  12. OVO - Creative Soul Functions which at this moment in time is Silks in Wellingborough. I would just like to concur with Mr G.THIS WHOLE SCENE IS BUILT AROUND ORIGINALS so don,t go telling me all of a sudden ITS OK TO PLAY ANYTHING!!!!! Another observation as a collector.I did not buy my vinyl to make a profit on,its a billy bonus.Dj,s get paid and in theory that money goes towards new tunes. If a club has decent equipment the condition of the records should not change too much!
  13. I thought you might be interested to know i have applied to join the: Soul Police Vice Squad.
  14. Trina it was poetic license for my tale. Also line up Rob,Nat and Elaine and could you tell the difference. Just get me passport!!!!

So Paul that would be two local derbys, and two twattings then. Though to be fair MK used to supply a lot of Cobblers fans before they robbed a team for themselves.
  16. Funniest thing i remember was at Cleethorpes Weekender.Rob the Stick was walking seductively across the dancefloor when his/her/its record box fell apart.Couple of minutes later he was twatting it for all it was worth with a hammer.Kimbos right deffo comes from Royston Vasey.
  17. Hiya Jock .You really should stop telling fibs like myself.I lasted precisely 5 weeks without buying any tunes. Is my house rewired,is my house anywhere near finished. Is it f**k.Great night Saturday, thanks for the ticket.Think the girls had a better night with me though. They were stll undressed when i got there. C U Later Trev

  22. Ken as you well know it,s an addiction, and some may say i have argumentative tendencies.
  23. And Fu**ing anything sung by Candi Staton including YHRF is more soulful than MVP.s.This site is becoming less and less to do with soul music and more and more to do with Pop music and Rock and Roll. And i don,t want to know if a casino classics record came out with blue, pink or Friggin yellow vinyl either.
  24. Jayne,if your spending that much a month on records are the dustbin lids going without food and water? And who is doing the cooking ,cleaning, washing and ironing whilst you are spending all your time on ebay?
