Family Of Eve - Please Be Truthful
I picked these up from the guy that knew the label / studio owner.Between them they had 5 hundred 12,s issued and a box of 25 demos.I don,t honestly think the cd made it into production though. They came from DJ Records out of Carnegie near Pittsburgh airport.Over the years had loads of superb records out of him but boy is he hard work to deal with.Bye the bye he lost all his stock in the floods of three years ago and anything he turns up now goes to the Bay.Pure chance that i could be bothered to call in and see him because he really is a miserable git.He probably still has copies. Souled Out Film Hits Trouble?
To Paul Sadot - I agree with you one thousand per cent mate! I for one find a production company that seems to be getting so much so wrong in an historical context perplexing to say the least. In the past has there ever been a decent documentary done about the scene that has not had you looking at it through your fingers? I would say no and that includes Look Easts effort a couple of weeks ago.If the documentaries are cringeworthy what chance a film that is only using the Casino as a background to the main story anyway.I started on an underground scene and thats where i want to be come my demise.I did like the short film with Dennis Pennis as the DJ as that was funny and of course the stage play Once A Time In Wigan. So thats my twopenneth worth. Trev

Broken Records
Cliff Steele snapped his copy of Honeybees - Lets Get Back Together - Garrison after dropping his box all the way down a fire escape after a soul night. Two Records were actually broken but only one of them was his.The other of course was mine the great big wassock! However its amazing he got off so lightly as we just looked at the box and thought F**k or something very similar but longer.

Gil Scott-heron Is Full Of
And they may have made totally brilliant records but Ric Tic had the Fantastic Four bastard liars as well. I bet they never got one room for $2 let alone another one, whether it had seen a broom or not! And i bet they did give up looking for their baby. Whats the world coming to when you can,t trust Soul Artists to sing to you truthfully?

Sophistcated Soul Lp..marvelettes

Sophistcated Soul Lp..marvelettes
A cracking piece of crossover off of a totally fantastic album.Been playing it off of a 45 for a couple of years now at any of my occasional dj spots.Should be reasonably priced too. Trev

O.v.o And C.r.&.p Venues
OVO - Creative Soul Functions which at this moment in time is Silks in Wellingborough. I would just like to concur with Mr G.THIS WHOLE SCENE IS BUILT AROUND ORIGINALS so don,t go telling me all of a sudden ITS OK TO PLAY ANYTHING!!!!! Another observation as a collector.I did not buy my vinyl to make a profit on,its a billy bonus.Dj,s get paid and in theory that money goes towards new tunes. If a club has decent equipment the condition of the records should not change too much!

Trina it was poetic license for my tale. Also line up Rob,Nat and Elaine and could you tell the difference. Just get me passport!!!!

Dilema
So Paul that would be two local derbys, and two twattings then. Though to be fair MK used to supply a lot of Cobblers fans before they robbed a team for themselves.

What Was The Name Of The Bloke
Funniest thing i remember was at Cleethorpes Weekender.Rob the Stick was walking seductively across the dancefloor when his/her/its record box fell apart.Couple of minutes later he was twatting it for all it was worth with a hammer.Kimbos right deffo comes from Royston Vasey.
