Amen indeed Let us also not forget the superb slab of Cross-over Soul that is, 'Colour Him Father' on the flip of 'Amen Brother'.

Benny Spellman Rip
I totally agree...superb lyric and well delivered. I can also remember the first time I played, 'This Is For You My Love' at the Capitol Soul Club...played in twice in the one night as it caused such a buzz! If the truth be known, I actually bought that disc for the other side, 'It's For You', which I first came across on the Charly LP release...another great slab of New Orleans/Northern Soul. RIP Benny.

Fantaisions W.d
I've had a couple of WDs of this fabulous double-sider. Seem to recall selling them for £40 a piece as the stockers are so cheap...mind you that was a fair few years ago. Wish I'd kept one now!

Obscure - unusual Foreign Releases
I think over the last 10 years we've really started to scratch the surface of what came out and where, Kel...who would have thought there were so many Argentinian, Mexican, Lebanese and Japanese (!) etc releases!?! The internet has indeed been a wonderful tool for collectors of the wierd and wonderful...not to mention international travelling and ex-pats digging deep! Enjoying this thread...here's a pic of another JP rarity...and a qualifier for best spelling!!?!!

Obscure - unusual Foreign Releases
Possibly...you can include Japan in the list of countries it came out in!

Can Anyone Explain This?
I got a mint WD on my sales shelves...hang on I'll go and play it, back in a bit...I'm back and it plays through no problem at all! On this West Coast WD copy I do note that the playing surface is quite wide leaving but a narrow run-out area, so maybe the arm is moving further over than with other discs...leading to the the problems noted within earlier posts. Great cross-over tune by the way!

Looking For Brief Encounter - "human"
What is the true going rate for this one as the price seems to vary quite a bit? Must admit it is popular Japan...couple that with the strength of the Yen and you don't see much change out of £200 for it when it pops up for sale over here.

Jimmy Helms - Gold
I got that 45 as well...never seen the album, so can't answer your question...but Maureen McGovern's, 'Wherever Love takes Me' also made it onto a 45 in Japan, not that it is of too much interest for this site! What is interesting is that you can watch the entire movie on YouTube...all 1:57 of it: >>> PRESS HERE <<<

New Sounds - Lp - Information Wanted
Hi Andy, I've finally got around to checking the Turbo copy and yes, the left channel briefly drops out within 'Sweet Memories'. Also, please note: The Turbo copy is self-titled and not called, 'Having you Around'. The label just states The New Sound...see picture below. The track running order on the labels (as there is no order on the sleeve) is different to what is in the grooves...'Sweet Memories' actually plays as track #2 not #5, and the rest just bounce down by one, if you see what I mean? As for the sound quality...top heavy on the bass yes, but, not as bad as some make it out to be...sounds fine if you simply adjust the bass down!
