Another Frank Beverly On E-Bay
A far inferior take as well, as the Rouser one doesn't feature the sax break...as if it has been simply cut out!

Oh! My Darling - Inst?
Many thanks one and all Was listening to the vocal takes the other night and that prompted me to want to dig out the inst...is there a more perfect NS record?!

>>>Up For Trades
Anyone fancy moving some vinyl (or styrene!) around?! Feel free to offer up trades against discs on my site >>> PRESS LINK HERE <<< Plenty of quality tunes available at the moment Will consider 60's Oldies/Classics/lesser-known pieces for sure All for the thrill of waiting for Mr.Postie to deliver parcels...gotta love that feeling

Oh! My Darling - Inst?
Mirwood Orch. - Oh! My Darling Not imagining it am I...thought it was on one of the Kent Mirwood/Jackie Lee CDs, but ain't. Sure there was an old bootleg Mirwood label 7" of it? Looking forward to a clip being added in RefoSoul!

The Jades On Poncello
You're not too wrong, Alan...was indeed around and cheap for a while (weren't they al!?!), but it went to ground (as they do into collections). However, that said, it has the quality to shine through, so I for one am not overly shocked or surprised to see a three-figure tag on it. However, it isn't 'Classic Oldie' sounding enough to ever go big, but it does deserve a few spins every now and then for sure...imo.

The Jades On Poncello
There are a few Northern tracks on the label in between the Deep stuff...can recommend these three for starters:
-
Sam Dees - Lonely For You Baby Sss
I have seen a copy stating 'PLUG SIDE' on the INYG side, and not 'Promotional Copy' (as per the Popsike scan) with LFYB on the flip.
-
Boogaloo to Salsa - New York 65-70 - Documentary Preview
Fabulous...can't wait for the finished article! Tangent...does anyone know the name of an old 80's TV documentary on Latin music which featured a lot of Machito?
-
Casinos
I know, I know it isn't the UK release, but here is the rather nice 1st US label for this wonderful track.
-
Rarest White Demo
Is that the correct period sleeve for that release number?
-

Current R'n'b Biggies Valuations
Thanks chaps...appreciate it I also came across the other King Soloman on MaderD, but was underwhelmed on listening, so passed on it Must admit I've known the Tony Sams for years and this is my first time to find one...excellent tune

Atlantic
Is anyone familiar with a (possibly) unreleased track by the Soul Brothers (Six) called, 'Looking For My Baby'?
-
Bristols - Go Away
Probably demos, as I've also had a black label with silver print copy...here's the evidence, your Honour!
-
Rarest White Demo
I see the occasional De-Lite white (and black) US demo over here...and if I'm lucky I may also see another one of these one day
-
Jack Hammer - What Greater Love - 45 Rpm
No idea which is the rarer...but...something in the back of my mind is telling me that I once saw a cover version on a New Zealand label?
-
Groove City Records
Out of interest Richard, have you got any records in your collection which are not on Detroit labels?!
-
General Johnson Rip
Yesterday I played 'Our love will grow' at a collectors night much to the delight of my fellow anoraks over here. I imagine there were a lot of General's discs on the decks this weekend, and many, many feet hitting the dancefloor to them all over the world...what an amazing thought!? A strong candidate for 'Artist of the Week' on here
-
Atlantic
Here's yet another West Coast promo rescued from the racks today...Tony Alvon & The Belaires ' Don't Be No Drag'.
-
Current R'n'b Biggies Valuations
Had another successful day of digging...more R'n'B than full-on Northern, but hey ho! Not sure what I'm doing with some of them...what's the going rate for these x4 at present: Tony Sams - Tishman LaCharles McCoy - AMC King Soloman - MaderD Jounior (sic) Wells - Bright Star Thanks in advance.

Blue Rock
How many 45's came with their individual factory logo/title sleeve? JMMatthews, LRoseLlittle, OtisL for sure, any others?
