Rivage Strung Out On Your Love On Tempus Sorted Now Thanks
Yeah, 3 minutes too long IMO. Thats the problem with a lot of those late 70's early 80's LP's and 12"s they're remixed too long.

Harris And Orr - Spread Love 45
The Spread Love LP states a different timing to the two 7"s, does that make it a 3rd mix of Spread Love, excluding the Michael Orr solo effort a few years later?

Stax Label
This was the inbeween period after the Atlantic distribution finished as I think Stax owned the name "Stax", but Atlantic owned the rights to the stacked singles logo before the clicking fingers came in.

Stax Whats Your Favourite Northern Track
Maybe because its only a UK 7" or a US LP track and you need to take the center off the desk to play it. The other side Same Thing is great too.

Who Sets The Prices In The Rare Record Guide ?
With the internet and other communication avenues opening up UK Dealers created these guides to try and stop UK buyers going directly to US dealers and either depending on your point of view get value for money or rip off those dealers directly. The UK dealers would rather control the prices globally by creating these books whose prices are shaded to their advantage. There's never been any independence in these books and never will be.

Sheridan House Discog, Any Advances?
I think Bye Bye Baby (I'm Leavin You) is the best track on the 12". Although I got it because Sweet & Sassy was played out, which does now in retrospect sound quite trite and very dated

Lee Charles Compilation Anyone?
I think it’ll be great as he's got enough released output for a full CD, but would expect due to his recordings being on seven different labels (counting Invictus/Hot Was as two) with many different writers, the gaining of rights to put out a CD could be problematic. Also for all the enthusiasm we all have, I wouldn’t expect it to sell in volume as it spans a couple of genre’s so might detract people from buying it.

Impressions - We Must Be In Love
This is one of the few Curtom singles I haven’t got and never thought much about it before, but has now got me perplexed. So this single was released after Curtis had gone solo and Leroy Hutson was the new lead singer of the Impressions. One side is a contemporary Hutson/Impressions release and the other a retrospective (18mths) Curtis/Impressions release of a previous LP track. If that’s the case I wonder why they did it, it’s not as if Curtis would have gone back with the Impressions to help market it would he?

Paul, What do you want to know about it? I think I bought this as a new release in the mid/late 80’s. It’s released on both 7 & 12”, If you look at the credits the people mentioned are very Memphis based including production credit by his brother, so would assume another Memphis label even thought it doesn’t mention it. Was played at a few 2-Step do’s, I attended at the time. The previous Sharp Mouth release was Angela Cruse — Making Love / Secret Lover, which was also a bit of a stepper and I’ve only seen a 12” release of this. Looking at a picture of it the 12" says its "recorded at Willie Mitchell's Studio" so looks like Sharp Mouth was a Memphis label.

Dj's Responsibility?
I've never been of the opinion that a DJ is there to educate you, as it’s your choice to look for new things that may interest you, not to be spoon fed. For me the DJ's responsibility it is to help you enjoy yourself when your on a night out, nothing else.

Its a tiny Memphis label which issued both the XI chains singles first. Its quite strange that the powers that be at XI chains decided to swap the flips of each record for their releases, so each XI chains release has a side from each of the separate Black Magic releases, if I've explained myself enough...
