  1. Blimey the amount of r&b records I've sold for way too cheap....first Teddy Mack now this!!
  2. Are they insinuating that the Brits who have travelled to America to put on soul nights are merely doing it to stake an early claim abroad over the big boys or 'mentors' back home?! Or do they mean that there are shadowy Americans who have been feeding these records through to us Brits for years, and that these are the real 'mentors'.....pulling the strings of the whole dastardly scheme!? Sounds like a case for Grassy Knollington, Conspiracy Theorist....
  3. Tough to find on Cyclone but even harder on blue Progress. The flip 'Hot Dog' has a shit title but is great if you are into rockin' r&b....plenty of rasping horns and screaming vocals
  4. Got a issue of this bunged in free as 'packing filler' when i got my Little Tommy through a few years ago!

I think it is better on Winner too, the Twinight dosen't have the same raw appeal or the same edgy production. Sounds like a different singer too!
  6. Steve Aldo 'You're Absolutely Right' on the same label is another superb British soul cut, and much more uptempo. I think The Apollas did the origional?

The Ohio Players version of 'Love Slipped....' is completely superior to the Sam Williams imho....the vocals are truly outstanding.... Other amazing Tony Middleton cuts are 'Return To Spanish Harlem' on Speed which pips 'Spanish Maiden' for me (and the flip is also great) which was big on mod dancefloors a while back and pretty tough....also 'Drifting' (on UA I think?) which whilst not a dancer has some hair-raisingly good vocals from Tone.
  11. I have this on RCA and I believe it also came out on Shield.....whats the first issue of it? Great record as J-Brew said
