back in the 80's when i was living in southampton my mate was summoned to his mothers house to take the last of his recently deceased grandmothers stuff to the charity shop, in amongst it was a box of about 100 albums, all classical stuff, anyway, as you do he had a quick flick through them and pulled out a mint copy of "the artistry of brenda holloway", his grandmother had obviously seen the cover and presumed that it was classical, needless to say, that one didnt make it to the charity shop

there actually was a southampton based soul covers band called rufus stone during the 80's, they backed up curtis mayfield when he played southampton top rank in 1985

agreed, i'm not having a pop, just questioning the choice of titles, epitome of sound was legally released on goldmine sevens only a few years ago, so i was thinking maybe the market might already be saturated, but thats just my thoughts

i didnt know that, i thought the listing fee was a percentage of the starting price, having said that, it must be 6-7 years since i last listed anything on ebay

fair point kev, but, i would have thought that anyone who wanted these titles on vinyl would have already got them with the amount of copies on the market, however, having said that, i suppose a good distributor can get these into shops where bootlegs wouldn't / shouldn't get

at that price his listing fee will be more than the records worth

i wish richard well in his new venture, however, i cant see the point of releasing stuff thats already been re released / bootleged over the past few years, a quick search on ebay or gemm throws up dozens of copys of these titles that just sit there unsold month after month
