  1. Garnett Sykes - Longer than Forever / Go Go Girl - Musette 13 Mint labels, record plays VG For £30 inc. postage to anywhere in Europe Garnet_Sykes_Longer.mp3 Garnet_Sykes_Gogo.mp3
  2. I always use www.protected.de for vinyl storage articles, because of the flat shipping rates, and because I can pay with a bank transcription. Only problem is that the website is in German...
  3. James Brown even made a tribute album 'Thinking of Little Willie John'. It's also being said that he was the only musician James has ever really looked up to. The only problem I have with him is that all Little Willie John 45s I encounter seem to be scratched up, maybe I'm jynxed or something like that?
  4. Ok, I finally managed to upload the working soundclips on refosoul, so here you go...
  5. Damn, I tried uploading the clips, but i'm obviously doing something wrong... Anyone know what the problem could be?
  6. Damn, that's some bad news I gave "My chant" of his Electric Church album a few spins after I heard about this. Another BEAUTIFUL tune by him...
  7. Yeah I don't think the NS audience would accept a DJ to play off a labtop. This is common practice now in loads of musical genres, but has (imo) always led to a poorer quality of the nights held. It's been discussed thousands of times but for me the bottom line is: Vinyl just sounds better. And about the NS audience's feelings about boots: there' been some heavy discussions on this board over this matter, i'm sure you could find some in the arhives... Looks like the general consensus about boots is: OK for playing at home, not OK for playing out.
  8. Just received a copy, but I won't be home before next friday so I can't record. If no one can help you out earlier i'll put a sounclip on refosoul next weekend. (btw: gutted that I bought the record as M- and received it with 1. 1/2 inch crack 2. ringwear and 3. a vg+-ish vinyl). £50 if anyone wants it...
  9. 1 day left!!!
  10. VG to M-, low starting price>>>> CLICK HERE to see the listing
  11. Yep, eBay are true masters when it comes to 'adjusting' fees. And it'll be like this until people stop using it... I decided to do things the hard way and I've started building a website for myself. I know it'll be harder to sell my stuff, but i'll be very glad if I don't have to deal with the ever-rising eBay fees anymore.
  12. ...and on some cases an easy way to unmask scammers on the bay. But indeed: search function on SS is free and gets more accurate results, so paying for popsike is a bit silly imo.
  13. Tell that to the people who put their money and time into releasing these 45s back in the 60s and 70s. What a load of bollocks...
  14. Don't worry, northern soul won't "die" anytime soon, i'll take care of it when you guys and girls are too old to put on a 45! btw: I know a lot of people that are in their 20s/30s that love the sounds but just can't afford 'em (yet). I think the prices 'll drop in the not-so-very-near future, but the 45s 'll be taken care for very well i'm sure.
  15. Yep, noticed the same too. I think it'd be great if the record fairs over here start being filled with lovely ladies selling my long-time wants at bargain prices. Would be even greater if we'd be able to do some *trades* . On a more serious note: I also thought it was for tax reasons, or maybe it's the women that own the visa so all paypal money goes to their account...
  16. I remember him buying a bunch of 45s from me a couple of years ago, very correct and fast payer (back then). It's very strange that suddenly he starts getting and giving a load of negatives, and there's really no excuses whatsoever for this bollocks. 2 positives and 14 negatives in the last month?!?! Anyway, his recent feedback has been terrible and I don't think it'll be long before he gets kicked off the bay...
  17. 1 day to go...
  18. I've decided to let the last bunch of my buy-it-now-records go as a lot. They're all in great shape, and include good stuff on Okeh, Wingate, Wheelsville, Sound Stage 7, Tuff, King Soul,... 19. New stuff added, lots of rare unplayed stock copies Eddie Holman, Diplomats, Judy of The Gayletts, Teacher's Edition, Hodges, James, Smith & Crawford, Jerry Townes, Jimmy Breedlove etc. More tasty soul 45s will be added over the next few days!
  20. After a few months i'm back on eBay, as I had a lot of tasty northern stuff for sale. All styles: Oldies, Modern, Crossover, Obscurities, Classics. There are several chances to pick up a bargain, because they're priced to sell; almost all of them are the cheapest around on the internet. All 45s are in great conditon too, with a lot of virtually unplyed 45s. >>>CLICK HERE<<< TO CHECK OUT MY NEW ITEMS Some of the 45s i've listed are: Beverly Shaffer on One-derful Nella Dodds on Wand Jean Shy on Foxcar The Opals on Okeh The Johnson Sisters on Broadway Rudy Ludaway on United Artists Johnnie Taylor on Beverly Glen The Mad Lads on Capitol Ronnie Love on Dot Bobby Lester on Columbia The Masters Of Soul on Ovide Our Ladies Of Soul on Kelton Roy Smith on Cutlass Warren Lee on Deesu Jimmy Beaumont on Bang Martha Branch on Solid Soul etc. etc. I'll be putting online more tasty soul bits during the next weekend, so watch out for that too! cheers David

  22. Great titles, all in great shape, low price... >>>CLICK HERE<<< to check it out cheers
  23. Same poblem here, been searching all day for a few tunes, but without a search function it's quite time-consuming. Probably has something to do with the recent changes to the site.
  24. Great stuff guys! Looks like i'll have to start earning quite a few £££'s to get some of the LPs that were recommended. This inspired me to actually get up from my lazy ass and start looking for a job keep 'em coming!!!
