What's with the past tense ? - "were an awful lot of folk"........
But,because the "scene" has been going on best part of 50 years,it does matter where and when records were played.A timeline is needed because there's so much water under the bridge. There's always going to be records you associate with a time and place,but to call those who do take an interest and where there at the time "Soul Stasi" is out of order. I don't think you're just a simple punter who likes what he likes - how can that be, if you've a photographic memory of tunes purchased and from whom.? Surely you'd be better joining the Soul Stasi with a memory like that .?
