The Ru-Jac Label
Dave, when you look at the numbers of some tracks,1671, Gene & Eddie for example, the listing in R & B Indies shows this as 1-6-71 which together with others listed similarly, indicates the date of release, ie 6th of January 1971.

The Ru-Jac Label

Fabulous Dimensions
Proper northern - deserves to be played as much as possible, in my humble opinion.

Whip It On Me
Assume we're not talking Devo here?
-
Little Al & The Maxidynes

Cover-ups What Do You Think Of Them?
I think cover ups are fine and add to the general mystique of the scene. What are the current "big" cover ups? Does Butch still have Diane Lewis as a cover up? What about the other major DJ's, what are their cover ups?

Fork In The Road
Label is GM from Detroit. £30?

Marvin Gaye Love Starved Heart Of Mine
I've just realised that the 1999 CD was an expanded edition of the original CD issued in 1994. Are there many instances of Motown putting out unreleased stuff on CD's and also on vinyl?
-
Marvin Gaye Love Starved Heart Of Mine
I knew about the Chris King one, but didn't actually realise that it had got a US release in 1995. I thought that the CD from 1999 was the first time it had been officially released. You live and learn!

Marvin Gaye Love Starved Heart Of Mine
This was an unreleased track. I don't know who "discovered" it but I think it appeared for the first time on the CD "Lost and found: love starved heart" from 1999.

A Few More Values Please
You know how it works, by now. These are all per JM's 4th. Expect some variations based on latest list prices, e-bay sales, peoples opinions etc

Smokey V Dusty
I originally voted for Smokey, but on reflection, whilst I wouldn't change my view, the comparison is a little bit perplexing, and therefore not entirely valid, if you see what I mean. For me, hearing "Tracks of my tears" (no matter how often) will forever be a spine tingling, back of the neck hair raising, experience. A true musical genius.

Mary Love On King?
Last one through e-bay secured £111, not mint, however. Reached higher levels earlier, though.
-
Price Checks
Fabulous Caprices - £30 per JM's 4th guide but one per e-bay in July for $204 Continental Showstoppers - £100 Franklyn went for $2035 in July of this year.

Freeman Brothers-my Baby(soul)
John, I've never seen a Soul 35012 with the "Bell Distributed" text but had recalled that the info was on www.sebear.se, prompted by the earlier post about the Hit Pack. Maybe, as you and Sebastain have suggested that Motown contacted Bell about distribution, that the info is not fully correct.

Sam Dees The Show Must Go On
You bet, a master craftsman at the peak of his talents.

Freeman Brothers-my Baby(soul)
Later pressings of Soul 35008 - Jr Walker - "Shotgun", Soul 35010 - Hit Pack - "Never say no to your baby", Soul 35011 - Freeman Brothers and Soul 35012 - Jr Walker - "Do the boomerang" were pressed with "Distributed by Bell Records Inc, N.Y.C" at the bottom of the label, due to an error at the pressing plant. Rather than scrap an entire batch of records, Motown apparently decided to cover up the error using a black marker. Info at www.seabear.se.

The Northern Soul Top 500-600
Just Kev Roberts personal view, isn't it? I don't agree with many of his selections, but its just an opinion. Any list will be contentious and can never be definitive. What about a SS top 500? Would anybody be prepared to organise such a thing? If so what would the criteria be? If it was capable of being put together, would anybody give a s**t?

The Intentions - I Feel So Good - Moneytown
There are also recordings by the Intensions or Intentions on Blue Light, USA, Jamie and Melron
-
The Intentions - I Feel So Good - Moneytown
Boba is presumably suggesting the Intensions as Moneytown is a Chicago label, but Uptight is a New Orleans label and therefore they may not be the same group, although somebody will be able to confirm the Kent/Uptown connection if there is one.
