  1. Was that in Johnny Pezzella aka Gamel aka Nylons club under the Arches Steve ? Ady held the 100 club there for about 6 months a few years back. Now that place made the toilets at Bidds appear luxurious. The place was literally falling apart, I think it was Des Parker who was standing leaning with his hand against the wall at an R&B allniter, as he took his hand away part of the wall came with him stuck to his hand. You never wanted to touch anything there Top bloke Johnny though
  2. RareNorthernSoul.Com Maurice Williams Being without you Deesu £425.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are bargains to be had though Shirelles March Test pressing of a pressing £10 UK Shrine "Demos" Only 10 made £20 (Look like a plain white label to me ?) 3. Saw Wilson P in the early 70s ( must have been a babe in arms ) at the Rainbow in London, absolutely awesome performer. Time fades the memory somewhat but remember being blown away by him. Saw quite a few live acts in the 70s but remember none as exciting as WP
  4. Vince Ayres .....the clip is still there just found it but bloody thing has disappeared again
  5. Hmm there was a clip on SSource sales a short while ago (couple of months) going back a few years but it seems to have disappeared. I was thinking of selling my copy & was looking for a sound clip & there was a sales thread from Vince of Gloucester (can't think of surname but Mikey will def know it) that had a clip.
  6. Not what you were asking Richard but Gloria Hill Be somebody Deep sounds like she was standing outside the studio whereas the b side is clear as a bell

I think Marc Forrest also has a way to flatten 45s
  8. Nah you'll be on holiday, nobody will take any notice & if they do they'll probably think you're a mad man/woman & they'll give you a wide berth & you'll have loads of space around the pool, sorted ;-)
  9. Take your mp3 player ;-)
  10. Totally agree Andy, watching (on youtube) some of the dancers who get to the later stages of dance competitions the standard can be appalling. I'm thinking that even though I've never been any good, have two left feet, dodgy knees & ankles & old & creaking bones to contend with I could still have a chance Some of them look like a dad at a wedding dancing to agadoo ...........there are of course some brilliant dancers as well
  11. Des is resident at Solid Hit in London & various other nights, not as prolific as he used to be bookings wise maybe but he's still there entertaining with brilliant stuff including unreleased bits & pieces.....Johnny too is still doing the business as far as I'm aware.

Not a recent find but a very welcome one.................. 80/81 used to spend a fair amount of time in a record shop in Chapel Street market London. Used to have boxes & boxes of 60s & 70s @ 10 & 20 pence lots of motown & commercial soul but the occasional goodie such as Tom Emmanuel and Ron Experience - Why( the knower) / When you lose your groove. They also had a box of more recent stuff that hadn't sold & these were also priced @ 10 or 20pence. I bought the odd thing that looked interesting & most ended up gathering dust in the back of various boxes. Fast forward to 2006/7 flicking through manships price guide & thought that name sounds familiar, had a search in my boxes & came up with a mint copy of Herby Brown One More Broken Heart Blue Ash bought from the market shop..... a very nice profit on that one
