Bargain Of The Century
Not a recent find but a very welcome one.................. 80/81 used to spend a fair amount of time in a record shop in Chapel Street market London. Used to have boxes & boxes of 60s & 70s @ 10 & 20 pence lots of motown & commercial soul but the occasional goodie such as Tom Emmanuel and Ron Experience - Why( the knower) / When you lose your groove. They also had a box of more recent stuff that hadn't sold & these were also priced @ 10 or 20pence. I bought the odd thing that looked interesting & most ended up gathering dust in the back of various boxes. Fast forward to 2006/7 flicking through manships price guide & thought that name sounds familiar, had a search in my boxes & came up with a mint copy of Herby Brown One More Broken Heart Blue Ash bought from the market shop..... a very nice profit on that one

Wigan Rejects
The Chandlers was big enough to get booted, big play for Pat brady wasn't it ? Unusually the boot was a solid center dark red label, not sure but think the label was imaginatively called "Demand" . E.J Chandler was booted on the same label, anything else ?

Keb's Top Ten 60's Newies 22Nd September 1984
Yes everything good thanks Rob,happy new year mate. Think you're spot on with the location & approx date but Demob shop doesn't ring a bell. Only went the once I think & fairly sure I went on my own. Guess somebody recommended it but I didn't return, was probably disgusted with the concrete floor...............as if that made any difference to the way I danced lol (off topic sorry, Rob try & get to Solid Hit Feb 15th we've got Ronnie Walker live, he's absolutely brilliant plus uses the original 60s studio backing)

Keb's Top Ten 60's Newies 22Nd September 1984
Ok you never went Gene but do you know if it was it a bit of a squat / warehouse inside? Remember going to a place around Grays Inn, concrete floor with a couple of sheets of wood on floor, cans of red stripe out of a box of water, Keb DJing possibly Ion & a bloke "Eric" possibly from Leeds playing modern ? Hope you're keeping well Gene?
