  5. Paid £0.75 as a new import in the record stall in The Lighting centre Petticoat lane, never imagined I'd sell it for £75 one day
  6. Ha ha thanks Gene, it came to me just after I posted, went back & edited ........too slow for quick draw Robertson Hope you're well mate
  7. The Chandlers was big enough to get booted, big play for Pat brady wasn't it ? Unusually the boot was a solid center dark red label, not sure but think the label was imaginatively called "Demand" . E.J Chandler was booted on the same label, anything else ?
  8. Think the Mighty Lovers might just take that title ?
  9. Hi Denbo how you doing mate Went for over 700 on a manship (say no more) auction 2/3 years ago, certainly goes for more than 300 Anyway it's a US only why would you want it Get down to Solid Hit, I'll play you mine ......................failing that we'll have to sort a beer ? (oops off topic sorry! )
  10. The strange thing is Al the "other" side is as clear as a bell while as we all agree Be Somebody is lofi very frustrating ]

  17. Pat sang this at Solid Hit Soul February 2012, sounded great & went down very well with everyone there. Funnily enough I never knew until now that she had released it ;-)
  18. Yes everything good thanks Rob,happy new year mate. Think you're spot on with the location & approx date but Demob shop doesn't ring a bell. Only went the once I think & fairly sure I went on my own. Guess somebody recommended it but I didn't return, was probably disgusted with the concrete floor...............as if that made any difference to the way I danced lol (off topic sorry, Rob try & get to Solid Hit Feb 15th we've got Ronnie Walker live, he's absolutely brilliant plus uses the original 60s studio backing)
  19. Ok you never went Gene but do you know if it was it a bit of a squat / warehouse inside? Remember going to a place around Grays Inn, concrete floor with a couple of sheets of wood on floor, cans of red stripe out of a box of water, Keb DJing possibly Ion & a bloke "Eric" possibly from Leeds playing modern ? Hope you're keeping well Gene?
  20. 3 Days ? I only saw it yesterday Steve ;-) Yes have a good one yourself, def do a beer in New Year, must get Dave M along ? all best Dave
  21. Sorry John I was answering a previous quote on the destruction of the historic Crystal Palace Exhibition Hall, Steve thought I was having a dig at the histerical cpfc & he responded with a hilarious play of words on the name of the current champions Charlton Athletic. Glad you got a copy John, you should of asked me at the 100club the other week when we were chatting about the 70s/80s gathering dust in my reject box ha ha
  22. Didn't it burn down? Would make interesting reading
  23. I think you used to be "allowed" to phone on two days a week Mal but only something like between 2pm & 6pm possibly you phoned when the "office" was closed lol . If you was lucky to catch him on a good day he could actually be quite talkative. He certainly had a strange way of running his business tho, I bought something which was a bootleg (a very good one but no stamped matrix) he said that he didn't know it had been booted & said I could either have the credit or he would give me my money back but would never sell me another record ;-) If he is ill I certainly wish him well
  24. I've been in a venue with 3 or 4 on the floor the majorlty of the night & yet the promoter describing it afterwards as "dance floor rammed all night" does that count?
  25. Hi Paul how you doing Manship had it on his site for £300 for about 10 dog years, but one unbelievable day had a half price sale & so I grabbed mine for 150 (might even have been less somehow) still underplayed I think. I played mine at Amlwch bout 4years ago & was surprised at the "names" that didn't know it. A few have popped up in the last couple of years but never over the 150 mark ................just waiting for Butch to play it so the masses will know it's ok to dance to it
