		The Wonder Of Woolies

70 or 71 W H Smith had a big sale of Motown LPs ( & possibly other Soul stuff, long time ago) can't remember price but 14 / 6d seems to ring a bell but might be barking up the wrong tree there bought Isley Brothers Behind a painted smile, don't think I knew anything on it apart from the title track. Imagine hearing all that stuff on one album again for the first time Why I never bought anything else who knows but to this day that remains one of my favourite Motown/souls LPs

		Unexpected Find

Best find for me 80 or 81 Herby Brown One more broken heart Blue Ash can't remember price as used to buy a fair bit in this shop & they had 2 prices 10p & 20p, hope I didn't pay over the odds at 20p Sold it 20 odd years later for £1590 should have been £1600 but sold it abroad & he sent 3 packages with cash in !!!!!! & the bank had run out of Sterling, being generous I let him off 10quid

		John Manship Auction Results 25-2-2015

Ha Ha you can always play that game Steve with whatever sounds are in vogue. A few years back when you couldn't move for Dottie & fucking Millie i heard it in 3 consecutive sets, think it was the afternoon club feature. I'm sure throughout the weekend it easily exceeded 8 plays.

- John Manship Auction Results 14 - 1 - 2014
- John Manship Auction Results 14 - 1 - 2014Bought mine about 10/11 years ago for 25/30quid, I think from a Mr P Smith ? £359 Actually I remember playing this & a quite well known DJ came over & asked me what it was so i told her the "chalfonteys" as described on the label. Oh never heard of them can i have a look ? Yeah sure ......... & with a slight sn***** she told me "Oh you mean the Chalfonts" Understandable if you've never read the label really but made me smile at the time
- Happy Days And Looking Back RegretsDid you do the lottery that week, bloody hell fancy finding a copy of that in a $1.99 pack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Happy Days And Looking Back RegretsBest bargain was in a record shop in Chapel Street market at the Angel London. They used to sell new releases plus some new imports as well as 100s of oldies. Imports (I think they bought them at Moondogs) that didn't sell were put in a 10p/20p box but with no listening facilities everything was bought blind. Bought a mint copy of Herby Brown One more broken heart Blue Ash because it looked obscure & I recognised the name Randy Mather for 10/20p got it home wasn't exactly knocked out by it & put it in a box for 20years ........................sold it for £1600 happy days
- Price Please - Green Grunchons Allstars On BoogalooOk Played Popcorn Boogaloo part 1 & have to say it sounds weak compared to Part 2. On part 2 you lose the vocal & thankfully the funky guitar which is replaced by organ & it's a much brighter / louder mix (no worry of drowning the vocal ?) with Brass & drums leading the way, a great stomping instrumental & identical to the Grunchons. Strange release with the name the Green Grunchons ?
- Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)50p from cheapos cheapos in Berwick Street Soho would have been 72/73, ahead of the game me & not a dig at anyone by the way
- Price Please - Green Grunchons Allstars On BoogalooPete trust me it's the same as the Grunchons, it's got the added brass + what I think is organ in there. End of the day doesn't matter either way, I just thought I'd add to your facebook post. Unfortunately can't do a sound clip but after Christmas if you're interested I'll sort something out. To be honest I've not played Part 1 for many years as Part 2 is just so much better & totally instrumental. I'll give it a spin tonight
