  1. Quite nice i could see some lowrider / sweet soul collector interest in it. first time i've come across it but i'm not looking particulary hard anymore. in a similar way sweet memories by robert tanner became a huge record when his other equally good record on same label remained largely untalked about or played.
  2. Wow. i can remember tim brown listing this for 20 quid when it was a 150 quid record. not sure how may he had ?
  3. Thats the glastonbury set i remember. Less than average with a very self indulgent damon albarn Who even stopped and started bobby a couple of times on the intro to one of tne songs. still managed to do a decent spot with his classics for the second half of the set. i was only watching on the TV. bobby womack must have been sensational live in his prime.
  4. Thats is some room very impressive. in top pic you seem to have a, b, c on top shelf and repeated on 2nd shelf. why not just have them all sorted in one go ? different genres ?
  5. The ikea cube shelving has always served me well and comes in lots of sizes.
  6. From thousands of records over the years this one somehow got missed i am usually thorough enough. i was happy enough selling but wouldnt have minded enjoying the other side a bit first.......
  7. Sold the uptights look a little higher without ever listening to the flip. a while later i heard it on a comp CD thought this is brilliant what is it ? felt a bit daft when i read who it was.....
  8. Perhaps it’s not overplayed in the states ?
  9. So if you file by artist where would you put billy ball and upsetters featuring Roosevelt Matthews ? i suppose you only have to check 3 possibilities. mine are filed by surname (mostly)
  10. Couple of still cheap tips from me doris duke "the feeling is right" just seen this on a playlist amongst some serious rarities so maybe starting to get some dj attention. lavell kamma i know where its at tupello difficult to pigeon hole but a nice record with a strong vocal cant find a clip on youtube to add
  11. Some brilliant records there. just my kind of spot.
  12. I didnt know he had that cheap as well ? i remeber finding some online sales lists for a shop in new york and it was like a treasure trove of expensive records all very cheap. I missed them all. But often wonder if anybody did actually manage to get anything. And how late i was to getting some success.
  13. funny when you look back some of those oddball punts on cheaper interesting looking items end up being worth a lot more than something that often listed and sold for a lot more. is anybody having the same sucess now ?
  14. Rod must have had a few to let it go cheap. Wasn’t it front page focus or record of the list what ever term he used ?
  15. The mainstream northern scene is years behind. I can’t imagine a record breaking there that isn’t already known from one of the smaller scenes within the scene.
  16. Is this the record rod (voices) had for 15 quid. shortly after it was going for big money.
  17. A tragic end. she made some superb music. issue copies of the epic single are highly prized.
  18. These finish in about 12 hours. the joe beck is a great a rare R&B style northern so surely in 2018 the 100 quid represents a bargain for somebody ? The flip is awesome deep soul. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/pushbuttonworld/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
  19. If some really rare records are not being played by dj's then the price may stay relatively cheap and make the records affordable as far less people will be chasing them. Maybe not cheap but something where you can justify a higher price due to rarity.
  20. Yes agree particulary the last paragraph. Not sure it could ever happen now though. cloest I saw to this was my trips over to Europe where it was nearly all younger crowd.
  21. Thanks rob. judging the music on its merits as quality soul music irrespective of weather it is a classic northern soul scene record and regardless of tempo seems like the best way to go. some big money highly regarded records leave me cold and I don’t hear the quality. But others I fully understand the admiration and reputation. the real cream will rise to the top.
  22. Yes true. I think there is some merit in having a younger scene within a scene if that is possible in any kind of way. i do feel soul music stands alone in its appeal and longevity. I can’t think of another genre as good. apologies for going a little of topic but it’s all age related.
  23. I’ve been away for a while but starting to get the itch to get to a nighter again. i don’t think you ever get to a point where you know them all. So many records to get through.... have a good night.
