  1. It was massive everywhere in 1975 and still getting plays in 76.
  2. I had one in the 70's sold to Ian Gillibrand, l am sure Barrie Wadd had it as well at the time. There are only a handful, that's for sure.
  3. 100% Agree, Rita Lee is not in any way shape or form rare.
  4. Rick, l deffo got a proper one for 60p, also James & Bobby Purify "Help Yourself" 60p (Wigan were playing Jimmy James version at the time)and £5 each Shane Martin "l Need You" , Natural Four "I Thought You Where Mine" They were not mail order, l went to Canada House to buy them.
  5. Yes l got one for 60p at the time, the funny thing was Selectadisc were still selling the pressing for 85p at the time. The amount of time l have talked about over the years and l know some people didn't believe it.
  6. Men from Mecca to Men from Macon
  7. RT, CW & MfM looked good in the box together, as far as l am aware Rita Lee is a later release, so no yellow label like the other three. RT & MfM, both got released again on the white label, but the inst the name got changed slightly.
  8. As l posted earlier the Female version to have is C. Watson, yellow label. The Rita Lee was pressed up due to demand, there are 100's of them.
  9. If Robert Thomas is going for over a £100, which isn't rare! WTF is Cresa Watson's version going for now, which is rare?
  10. It got played almost everywhere l went back than. In them days soul do's were 7 nights a week, not just weekend. I have/had a live tape from The Cir All Nighter in Burnley (C120) and it is on there twice. Side one Ginger playing it, side two Sam playing it.
  11. Crazy when you think one of the record shops near where l lived had this in stock in their import section. Also how many copies Martin sent over from Canada back in the day.
  12. I had about a dozen Four Larks stock copies for sale mid 70's. Sold them at £4 a throw.
  13. I sold a dozen of those tracks in the 70's and knew of at least ten more.
  14. Well what a send off, 1st record on the decks at 5.30pm, dancefloor packed. Well done Steve Woomble and the rest of the DJ's. Also well done the Preston Soul Crew. You all did Docker proud. Phillip Worden R.I.P.
  15. We have only known Docker about 10 years, but in that time we became good friends. We have had some great times with him and the Preston Crew, more so at Weekenders. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts go out to Jayne and his family. R.I.P. Phil Worden Dave & Lou.
  16. lol, l did the same thing with a P.P. Arnold back in 72, £1 on me and bought 10 other records. My reason was that P.P. Arnold was the one that l least liked of the lot, and it ended up being the rarest one, lol.
  17. I didn't manage to get a Sequins (real one) till 76 and it got pressed in 73.
  18. I never realized how rare Leon Haywood was till years after l sold it. I got it in a job lot off a lad at the Mecca, the only other import was Cindy Scott. The rest were lots of nice UK stuff, l paid the pricely sum of a quid each.
  19. My old copy l sold it to Ian, 77ish for about a tenner. ("Hollywood A Go-Go")
  20. The 1st time l became aware of it, was on one of Simon's list from early 73.
  21. It was known about before Wigan, but l didn't get one till 74.
  22. This one was played before L.C. and F. W. and still a very hard one to get.
  23. I think Gary Lewis & The Playboys in very shocking.
